I have friend drawing using bullpen without pencil... I think was mastered to do it ...an exceptional skills. But the output are the same with those Artist who are used pencil as their guide. As viewer maybe we amazed with this skills since we saw most Artists who starts their drawing with pencil.

i’ve never seen anything like this before...i’ve never seen anyone tell a story by drawing a picture in real time (with no pre-planning). calling this a masterpiece is a gross understatement. this is a once in a lifetime (super)natural phenomenon

He definitely have some photographic memory. That's the only way someone can just start drawing a hand/feet and right into the whole body in the middle of nowhere. It's like tracing something that he's seeing. I'm sure he have a rough idea in his head and pull that from there. Still very impressive skill.
@adelfhipster39365 жыл бұрын
I don't think its photographic memory, he said it himself. Its not that hard to draw feet and hands, he drew them in almost every possible pose many times. So he just knows how to do it because of that, lost of trial and error.
@asia9115 жыл бұрын
@@adelfhipster3936 It's photographic memory man. No one start drawing from a hand and work it way to the head and ect. Go watch him draw Asterix. Asterix is a very good indication he drew it from photographic memory because it look almost like the art from the comic but a touch of his style.

@@asia911 I understand you, but I don't want to brag but I've been drawing my whole life and started drawing with only pen about 2 years ago and I can do similar stuff. I don't have photographic memory, I never learned as much as I did throughout these 2 years of pen drawing. I think he learned all this because he was drawing with pen since high school.
@goawaygosh5 жыл бұрын
@@asia911 Yeah sure. It must be photographic memory, even though Kim Jung Gi himself has stated numerous times that he doesn't have one. Nah, you've gotta be right. Doesn't matter that it's taken him decades to be able to accomplish such a feat. Nah, it all boils down to him having a photographic memory. He was born being able to do this.

Not at all, at the core of his skill set are... Understanding of perspective and lenses, and understanding of human and animal anatomy. This understanding comes via doing it so many times that there are no more misteries about it. He might have some special visual memory but just because he is observing and drawing all the time so his focus on this things are building up exponentially. Easy to understand.

In this video he's using a paintbrush, but he's typically known or using a Pentel color brush pen. But he's said he'll use any pen and just uses the brush pen to make thick lines so it's easier to see during his demonstrations. The type of pen doesn't matter much to him.
