■ PERU, PISAC: Whilst no mountain filled with historical ruins I've ever encountered could rival the sheer aesthetic beauty of Machu Picchu, said site does come with two major drawbacks:
1. There will be thousands of other people there during YOUR visit which somewhat puts a dampener on your ability to enjoy the site
2. Huge parts of it are off bounds to tourists which puts a mega dampener on your ability to enjoy the Inca ruins.
At the Inca ruins of Pisac, which for the record encompasses a site which is 4 times larger than Macchu Picchu, you will not encounter any of these issues. I was the only one there for the first 2 hours of my hike.
But the main advantage of Pisac's Inca Ruins is that the hike itself is more scenic and interesting that any hike you can do on your day visit to Macchu Picchu.
Don't believe me? Well, let me hear what you think after having seen the superb hiking trails I traversed up this morning starting at 05:55 AM at Pisac central market.

@@misterxyz5958 lol. I appreciate the history, more than you know. Im very saddened that the world heritage site has forbidden then indiginous the continued right to farm the terraced lands. The land was in continuous use until a few years ago. The irrigation system still functions. It severely cut down the income and the food supply of the locals. I have immense respect for the history ,the soirit of the mountain, and the ancestors who have moved on. It is still a very sacred place. I wish that you could see the view from my farm and my patio. Its sooooooo awe inspiring and beautiful.

His family left him alone 36 years old. Wife and kids all left him basically to die. I’ve tried to make sure I help him get out of his apartment and experience whatever he can while he can. God bless you on your struggle. Enjoy what you can hope n pray it’s alot

the megalithic block construction at 17:00 is amazing.. 17:52 truly looks like a far more advanced group built the place then the Inca moved in after some catastrophe or abandonment. They did their best in trying to replicate the previous structures but did it crudely by comparison. And now i have to go to this place.. another check box on my bucket list.

...the extent of the terracing revealed how the Inca population exceeded the agriculture food production capability of the lower land area...the Inca created terraced land area is many times greater than the naturally formed lower land area that fed the initial Inca population and the terraces were increased to higher levels with each successive generation out of necessity....the irrigation at the time must have been much more extensive and of wood construction ....there are 2 types of building craftsmanship: (1)-> the minimally crafted 'polygon' sided terrace walls and buildings which were for Inca agriculture laborers habitation (2)-> the highly crafted rectangular block walls are buildings for religious activity and government residences ...awesome video....don't have to go there now....got everything right here.....

21:02 a ruined Intihuatana, defiled by the Spanish. There were many Intihuatanas, some researchers say they pointed to other sacred sites. The Spanish defiled every one they could find. Of course, they didn't find the one at Machu Picchu. That was much later on September 8, 2000 while filming a commercial a boom struck the stone and chipped it. Since then, the authorities are very protective of it. In fact, they won't even let you touch it now.

I'm absolutely fascinated by these ruins and the unbelievable stone work made with presently unknown techniques.. There are some theories that the perfect large blocks are much, much more ancient in origin and the rougher work often seen on top of the older layers is more modern constructions and repairs.
