Do you have a need for speed? Speedruns are Super Mario Maker 2’s hottest level category, and can be completely exhilarating or a snoozefest. Today, I am going to show you 8 creative speedrun ideas that will thrill anyone who plays your courses.
1. Frantic Falling
In this idea inspired by Rayman Legends Falling Challenge, we use a cape feather powerup and a clear condition to strategically fall as fast as possible. Careful not to lose your precious powerup!
2. Underwater Urgency
Speedruns underwater can actually be fun! We use yoshi to lick and spit items that allow us to move more quickly.
3. Swift Superball
The entire speedrun is based around trickshots with the superball flower while platforming!
4. Super Speedrun
Find out how we can go faster than maximum speed using a night theme and special item combination!
5. Sneaky Snakeblock
We need to be quick to keep up with our supportive snakeblock in this idea. One hesitation and we will be unable to make it to safety!
6. Intriguing Inversion
We use the same area in two different ways. Using the underground night theme, we take the same area and run it upside down and backwards.
7. Vertical Vaulting
Climb up as fast as you can! Time is not the biggest issue here, we must race the autoscroll!
8. Brisk Bob-ombs
Bob-omb timers reset when we enter doors or pipes. This speedrun is made up of mini speedrun rooms that we need to get the ignited bomb through!

World 2-1 for Super RetroAsurada World has a red coin hunt section inspired by a secret level in Super Mario Sunshine, whereas World 6-3 has a Pong-inspired section before a snake block trip with the angry sun and mechakoopas on tracks. World 12-1 or 12-2 (I haven't decided yet) will also have the Pong section from 6-3, but with wind that would make it much harder.

we know the speedrun courses but there are also daredevil run couses(that are levels where you can die in one hit(no power-ups where you can survive a extra hit) do some ideas from that

@@Arrowstotle I don't know exactly, I'm working on a level where you get different routes depending on random events and I want to make some kind of puzzle going upwards or downwards but since you can't make as many doors or pipes as you want I get very limited and need to make bigger but fewer horizontal puzzle going up or down to reach one of the two exit bosses before the goal itself

Awesome video as always but What about 3DW speedrun? The only thing it comes in my mind is item abuse. Also do you know Ferpy? He makes some awesome kaizo speedrun levels, thabeast has a video dedicated to them. The last level is just mindblowing!

Arrowstotle I have an useful trick: usually when you want something that Mario can’t pass but other stuff can, you use bumpers or saws while you use icicles in 3DW, but what would you do if the thing has to fall from up to down? The icicle doesn’t work! I would suggest peepas :)
