"Is that what teenage boys talk about." Yes, more than you might think. Superbad was released in 2007 and I graduated in 2006. It was the closest we'd EVER heard to natural dialogue for teenage boys. You could hear this sort of thing as early as 7th grade, but most likely between 10th and 12th... Heck, some never grow out of it and your hear adults talk like that too... For me and my best friends, we mostly grew out of talking like that before graduating.

@@CheerfullyCynical829 Absolute nonsense. Booksmart JUST came out in 2019. It's basically a sequel to Superbad. Everyone loved it. The reason they don't make many movies like this anymore is just because they BARELY make normal mid-size movies OR comedies in general anymore at all. It's all huge blockbuster movies that cost $500 million or little indie movies. And the big blockbuster stuff is frequently being SORT OF a comedy, and driving down the demand for actual comedies.

Shooting a gun like that won’t break your wrist (unless your bones are glass), but it can cause your gun to jam. This movie is hilarious. Puts American Pie to shame.

Chika chika~ It's amusing to watch female reactors ask if this is how teenage boys really are, and male reactors relate the humor so much to their teenage years LOL

Me and my friends personally didn't talk like that. We always talked about things we were friends to begin with (video games, music, movies) never talked about our sex lives, never watched porn together. That business is between me and whoever I'm doing that business with

Everyone loves Michael Cera movies, but just the big few. We need to give Youth in Revolt, and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist some respect too. This is an amazing movie though.

Jonah Hill was not young, he was 27, he had to shave twice a day to stop looking old. Michael Cera's love interest was also 27.

I really like the bittersweet ending as well, it always makes me tear up. Mainly because I relate to the movie and I have drifted from some of my best friends during that time. And yes, as a teenager, my friends and I would talk about that kind of stuff, but it was a good balance of topics. They played it up a bit in the movie, but it was still accurate. (Not many people here are willing to admit it.)

What I loved about this movie when I saw it in theaters is that I honestly had no idea what was going to happen next. I feel kind of the same way about Pineapple Express.

The biggest paradigm shift in teenage boy's life is when you stop hanging around your best friend all the time and start hanging out with girls on dates or with a girlfriend.

When you think of Seth Rogen, please do not think about weed jokes. Think about the hilarity of everyday experiences. But yes also weed. 'Knocked Up' is a good one for this.

This is my favorite comedy. I have seen this so many times and 17 years later, it's still just as funny. Also your laughing and a few snort laughs was me through the full movie when I first saw it in theaters. I spit my sprite out 2-3 times and cried laughing. The part when Seth (Jonah Hill) is running in gym class on the track had me in tears. The ending perfectly symbolizes when friends start to go their own way after HS.

Teen movies before Superbad were glossy productions where everyone looked like a 25 year old supermodel and you could tell adults wrote the script. Superbad captured what teenagers actually look, dress, and sound like. Their school is nondescript, nobody is dressed in Armani, nobody has a 80k car. Even the pretty girls are cute without being glamorous. It changed the game.

*Some* teen boys talk like that. I never did...mostly because I was afraid a girl might hear me and you KNOW it would get back to a girl I liked. I used the f*** word in high school once (just once) and of course, a girl I knew from church was right in front of me...turned and looked at like I just started leaking radioactive waste. That's just my luck.
