Actors won't know you're recording unless they hear someone announce "rolling" and slate. They didn't with this recording since they had to tail slate at the end. Someone on set probably just told the dp to record cause they could tell it was going to be good

@@dracconz1486 Uh, no they aren’t. There’s a ton of waiting around on set, why would you generate extra footage and audio to deal with in editing by recording all of that dead time? More gets recorded now, sure, since at least most of the time there isn’t a film cost to consider, but editing time and hard drive storage are cheaper than film but they still aren’t free. No reason to waste money recording stuff that isn’t at all useful, like the set just sitting there while everyone is eating lunch. My guess would be that he’d sung for sound check before and someone told the relevant crew to record it this time.
