How to fit a GSXR1000 K3 Superbike top yoke conversion.
Sorry its a long video but i tried to cover all the steps.

I did have to trim the screen about 15mm, but I did a good job with a dremil and simply placed a trim around he edge. The toughest bit is the cable routing and the video would do well to focus on that as it it the most important bit. Also make sure you TORQUE up and the nuts as it is critical for balance at speed, especially the head yoke nut and pinch bolts. It’s truly a different bike now, so comfortable I could ride it for hours (and do now) , a true tourer with the grunt of a sports bike - whats not to love. It’s honestly the best £300 I’ve spent on my Gixer 1000

6:14 wouldn't the sheer bolts come off without the welding method? 11:45 I loved the sneaky use of the masking tape and texta to mark a drill hole....

Thanks for sharing I didn't see any handlebar weights I don't suppose there's any bar options that will accommodate the standard bar weights maybe with steel bars or low riser mtb bars or even fatty mx bars I suppose I'm dreaming

+s1n0z Fixed it to the brake lever clamp using the original bracket ( cut down and re bent ), this can be seen in the other GSXR For sale vid at 1:09 hope this helps.

I was wondering about the tapered bars, like you'd see on off-road bikes, can they be used? I'm not sure if these Superbike kits are designed for these types of handlebars. What options are there? Looking into it, like everything, there is so much choice. Which is good but it makes decisions difficult. 🤓

if you wanted to and didn't have the original yoke, could you use normal clip-ons with that new yoke??

Yes you need to change the brake lines, usually need an extra 4" / 100mm. the clutch cable just needs re moving.

The top yoke of a motorcycle with clip ons is extra thin and you must fill it first with material if you don't want to have a broken top yoke.

Surely the levers are going to touch the screen, wouldn't it make sense to test with them fitted.

David Edwards, on some bikes they will get close and the screen needs trimming, but on this bike it worked ok.

Yes, this type of conversion allows you to sit more upright and also takes the weight off your wrist.

50 to 75 mm, you can now get clip ons with 75mm risers and they are a quicker and easier to fit.

So I take it the brake lines were long enough for this conversion Planning to do the same on my ninja 900 but the brake lines look too short!

Azz Kam yea this one just needed the cables moving, some bikes need longer throttle, brakes and clutch cables.
