The fact Silent Planet could put out the masterpiece that is iridescent and then follow it up with another masterpiece is absolutely insane. The creativity and diversity in both albums is something I’ve never heard any bands do. It’s something new for them but still sounds like Silent Planet. Basically I love this band and can’t wait to see them again.

Offworlder is probably my favorite opening to any album ever. That first 30 seconds never ceases to not get my adrenaline pumped and make me wanna sprint for 10 miles. I think I still find the singles as the best part of the album, which is saying something considering how good it all is.

When the end began for sure and still today after listening to the album, maybe it will change even if I strongly doubt it, but I think the album on its own is fantastic and shows a great example of modern metalcore and a good way for Silent Planet to move towards. Nonetheless, as a Silent Planet album I find myself seeing less similarities between old and new Silent Planet which is good and obviously necessary otherwise they would always sound the same. But what I mean by that is that I am finding myself not seeing strong assets of Silent Planet that they used to do even in Irridescent (which I think is a perfect transition between the cycle of when the end began and this new era) I am talking about complex rythm patterns both for instrumentals and vocals, riffage that was very particular to Mitch with big riffs and jazzy elements here and there and a way of writing that was different from other guitarists. I do not by any means am saying that these elements are completely gone or even gone or that it's a bad decision from them. Of course I love their work and this album and strongly support the band and it's probably me being too much of a When the end began fan that makes me think this way. I however recognize that they are more focusing on the experiment modern metalcore side of things now especially with Buster on the mix which can explain what I've told previously. I will of course give it a ton more of listens to see how my perspective changes but this how with a couple of listens done already. Silent Planet is one of the best band in the genre no doubt
