For students who live closer to Hogwarts, I imagine they would just Floo Powder to Diagon Alley and then go to the station so it's not any more of a hassle than those that live closer. A personal headcanon I read and subscribe now is Arthur knew Harry needed those questions rather than him. He was a father of 6 boys and he saw Harry was shy or uncomfortable (and if you subscribe to Dumbledore's big plan, he was to look out for Harry), and what better way to distract a boy from what they just came from than for them to describe such off the wall topics 😂. He was making Harry feel safe and comfortable to speak his mind and make the Burrow a home in all sense. So maybe sure, Arthur didn't know all of why, but he was ready to listen to a 12 year old boy that had been locked in a room all summer

I dunno why I have suddenly developed this obsession over names and stuff be there we go but like I have only just kind of realised that compared to a lot of other all wizard families the Weasley's have very like normal sounding regular names. like in the real world today you wouldn't think twice about a person names Molly or Fred or George or Arthur and such with I think the only exception being Ginny which we do know is short for Ginervra. but like a lot of the other Wizard families we meet have very fancy names like the Black family and the Malfoy's and stuff. And that to me I feel adds to like how comforting and homely the Weasley's are and who they are as people and how they present themselves to the world and what they value. We know they don't care about stuff like status and blood purity and the like so I feel they would think naming their children a fancy name is kind of pretentious in a way so instead gave all their children very regular normal sounding names. Again I think because she is the only girl Ginny is the exception to the rule because she is treated as a little more special than the boys. Plus the meaning of the name Molly if you look up the history of the name is literally Love. the name Molly means Love and the woman is love. She is the warm hug and the cosy sweater and the plate of delicious food. Molly Weasley is love and that's just freaking awesome.

Lucius and Draco almost certainly arrived on the same day as the Weasley family (and tons of other students) because the book list had just come out, late. The school year is about to start. The Weasleys even mention the fact it took Dumbledore a long time to hire the DADA professor, so it's very close to September 1st.

I started listening to the audiobooks, and in Chamber when Harry is saying how the Dursleys don’t care if he loses his spot on the Quidditch team, he actually DOES also mention having homework that he is unable to do as his stuff is locked up.

But fair enough point on how hermione spends more effort on the homework, but she is also better at studying, researching, and remembering the details. So with all of that she really shouldn't still be very busy with homework in the second half of summer if Ron and Harry still have plenty of time to goof off along side completing it

My headcannons as to where Rita Skeeter was: Year 1: She isn't an accomplished writer yet and Dumbledore, fearing what fame would do to Harry, wouldn't allow anyone near him. Year 2: Too dangerous. Even for a story, she won't face Salazar's monster. Year 3: Dementors and heightened security. By Year 4, she is an accomplished writer, and has easier access to Hogwarts since Ministry officials are everywhere.

In the UK 🇬🇧 "Mister" or "Mr" usually refers to an Adult man and "Master" refers to the man's son. However, this is changeable. For example, Draco's Hogwarts letter ✉️ would be addressed as "Mr Draco Malfoy." In the context of this section of the book when they are in the shop...the shop owner uses Mister to address Lucius Malfoy and Master to address Draco because Draco is the son. Hope that makes sense. ✨

Saying the Malfoy are the opposite of the Weasley seems a little incorrect. Moneywise they are definitely opposite, but even if they're bad people I think it's shown pretty well throughout the series that they are a loving family, their love for one another is even what causes them to go against Voldemort in the end. Definitely not good people though!

Well sorta. The function of the Malloy family is to show their opposition to the Weasleys. Draco has a similar role to Dudley, they love Draco yes and obviously don’t want harm to come to him, but their love seems very surface level. Dudley was treated as well as he was just because of Harry. Dracos parents (his dad at least) 100% value status over almost everything else. They spoil Draco because they can, sending eagle owls of sweets everyday to the great hall, buying him and his whole team new brooms. If they loved like the weasleys did, they’d encourage Draco to earn his spot on the team because that is more loving than giving him whatever he wants. I do think that Draco’s mom is portrayed very well, for being a story centered around mother’s love. But I think the Malfoys and Weasleys are opposites, with deliberate similarities to further show how opposite they are.

The reason 11-17 year old wizards don't accidentally perform wandless magic (typically, exceptions like blowing up Aunt Marge do exist) is because they have 10 months of wielding magic wherein it's not all built up inside of them. Harry, possibly due to being a horcrux, might have extra, and as a result has extra magic build up until he's 13 or so.

Question: I wonder, if Slytherin thought, his heir would be a girl, and thus put the entrance to the chamber in the girls toilett OR if, back then, only boys were allowed in Hogwards (because education for girls wasn't a thing) and ALL toiletts were boys toiletts. Only when girls started to go to school in Hogwards, they made some of the toiletts for girls and the one with the entry to the Chamber HAPPEND to be one of them, making it even harder for male heirs to find it. OR Slytherin thought, girls would NEVER come looking for the entrance in the boys toiletts, boys on the otherhand would look in the girls toiletts. What do you think?

I would say hogwarts was never a boys only school as two of the founders were women so it doesnt really make sense if wizards thought education wasnt for girls for half the founders to be women. I personally think that the entrance was there before it was a bathroom (as they didnt originally have plumbing) and magically melded with the sink when the bathroom was installed.

Actually there might be an explanation for that. Depending on how the magic works maybe it was more important for the teacher Remus Lupin to be shown on the map than for the marauder Mooney to be hidden.
