In 4th grade, my granddad bought a brand new '93 Previa in 1992. This thing was expensive, like $19,000 back then. The big rear AC vent cooled us kids down in the back on a hot California summer day. We used to load up 4 or 5 of my friends and drive out to the desert hot springs for the weekend, and he'd let me drive when we got close to the trailhead. He gave it to me when I was 24, and I got hit by a drunk driver a few months later. Totaled. Definitely ahead of its time.

Its crazy how vehicles literally and figuratively transport you back, more than any other thing. Even more than food.

Every time I hear that supercharger when it accelerates, it always brings a smile to my face. My family and I went everywhere with this van when I was a kid. My parents also owned a RWD supercharged model. The only reason my dad sold it was because we moved up north and the RWD was difficult to drive in slippery conditions. It was still in great condition with no rust at the time of sale as it was a California vehicle. If only I was older when my dad sold it, I would have taken it and kept it forever.

I own a 1993 Previa LE, not supercharged with double sunroof, tow package, rear spoiler, aluminum wheels, etc. now with 290k miles on an original engine and transmission. It still runs with an average of 22 MPG on regular fuel and does not consume oil in between oil changes. A durable van indeed with space age looks.

I really can't comment much on what I was doing in 1996 but I will confess I graduated in '91. Just bought a JDM version of this and can't wait for it to be here.

My 1992 Previa all trac I still drive today has containers of orange slices and juicy-juice boxes from 1990s soccer games, Chucky Cheese tokens and Game Boys everywhere. Mine is one of the nicest you'll see anywhere. People ask me if it's a new model of Toyota.

In 96 I was in second grade and the Macarena was going hard. Bob Dole and Bill Clinton were doing it together that’s how much we didn’t care back then.. I miss discovery zone I feel like the previa and discovery zone are memes that never got made lol. I remember in my head seeing the previa when I was being picked up from school this was like 94 and it was the light blue one I believe and it was so iconic looking even back then.

That whistling may be the famous previa whistle, something to do with the muffler or exhaust if it's still factory.

Supercharger whining up with air pressure?
@JaceD4V1S88 Жыл бұрын
@@UUBrahman no the factory exhaust had a small hole and the material inside to muffle the sound would go bad or something and the different fluctuation in pressure caused it to whistle

How much are they selling this thing for? I have a 92 Previa LE w/ almost 300k and looking for another one . This one is mint!
If you happen to still be looking, check out Texas Postal Cars. I just bought a JDM ( Japanese right hand driving imported ) for under $10 out the door and only 83k miles. Turbo charged. They have a bunch more still including one that has the hot\cold box to keep a few drinks hot or cold. Oh yeah baby!
