You've showcased some incredible vehicles, and me being a Chevy guy born and raised in West Los Angeles, I've seen in person some incredible builds, but this Nova is one of, if not the most perfect builds I've ever seen.

Back in 1992 I bought a 1/25 scale AMT model of a '67 Nova SS along with some aftermarket big wheels and rubber to create Pro Touring look seen on this car. I was way ahead of the concept by +30 years, I just did on a budget.

I like how they made valve covers that look like BBC covers and also hid the coils, etc. That did a good job of polishing up the ugly of LS engines!

I often say, "What's the point in building a car with so much power if you're not racing it?" I got my Journeyman's in Upholster decades ago, have done diamond pleats, tufts, etc, but these guys are on a whole other level. The metal fabrication and sharpening of lines is ridiculously meticulous!

its pretty smart to use a body like that as a base with a lot of fresh metal to work with vs trying to do that DIY with body/bondo on a car etc. This level of work is definitely worth it for the $ any day. Just so much more clean metal than filler On top of meticulous body work/gap care. Even the undercarriage shot was too clean. A proper presentation of "factory modern" for sure one of my favorites as a Chevy II/Nova fan

i cant say enough about the show. i spent over 30years inO.Cbuilding orn helping built dozens of c 10s and suburban suff wagonsfirst gen camaros. i never got rich but i helped anybody do anything. then i had 3strokes one week. i came to tacoma to my buddy's house to get well and im not. i miss my life but when I tune into autotopia I feel like im there having a beer with the fellas. thanks? keep it up.

I think the key subjects are attention to detail and practically. I love when professionals tell people how absurd it is to have excessive HP on daily drivers. Anything over 600 just isn't reasonable for daily. Enjoying the ride is more important than being able to show off. I'll take a build like this any day of the week

What I'm about to say is nothing new but when these cars were built customizing was a thing as it is today. Back the customizing was hot rodding a car to make it faster was the move. Ok, I've watched most of your videos. And I've seen some incredible builds. This one though? Took them all and ate them for breakfast. Seriously - took my favorite Chevy. Then the builder went full bonkers. Ferrari couldn't have done a better job with that interior. Those body lines are so crisp and clean. My only gripe because I'm old school is I don't like skinny wheels on an old Hotrod like that. I want to see some meat. 500hp is plenty of fun under the hood. Such a nice build. I'd love to have the same car - just in black :)

Hi Shawn, wiring and plumbing ocd is what all builds should be centered around. 550 at the tires with the proper highway gears can give you great gas mileage and a little bit to show off. I’m a derby cap and trim ring with rally wheels because it keeps it more original but it doesn’t make the rotors look tiny. It’s still a great car just my neurosis gets in my way!! My 08 GT500 Had 700 wheel hp. It was more than that chassis needed for street use. But then, I do like taking a nuke to a knife fight. Today I daily a 2015 GSXR 750. With a sprint filter, injectors, velocity stacks, and a titanium catless pipe with an M4 TECH 1 carbon can. Tuned by Moore Mafia. I put 140whp down with 77 foot-pounds. I weight 186 lbs, together we are 591 lbs. Makes my Shelby look slow.

Cool video and cool car, but the guy's braking system analysis is not consistent with known physics, facts, science, and data. There is nothing wrong or improper with vacuum asist, for instance, and in fact, such is generally safer in most contexts than manual. So there's that. I realize Sean dooesn't want to argue with his guests or get into some needless debate; but facts, data, and objective results matter. Truth doesn't bend for happiness. But I like the Nova anyway. Especially the white paint. Cool video!
