I can’t explain how much I adore this character. I knew as soon as her design was leaked so long ago that I wanted to use her, and once she released and we got to know her more through the archon quest and hangout, my affection for her was solidified. As niche as she might be, she will continue to be one of my favorite support units and I will likely use her whenever I can.

@@iamfearnaught Xinyan has slow attacks, and her vertical hitboxes heavily offset the reach advantage of claymores. Those are also the reasons that, unlike Noelle, Xin's best sustained DPS normally is from holding charged attack (Yun still makes her normals stronger than her charged attacks, but like, her charged attacks with just Bennett will be stronger than her normals with just Yun I'm pretty sure, and that's actually a very rare scenario even among other characters that don't normally use NAs). Furthermore, her multipliers are not phenomenal. Her substat is ATK, which does nothing for synergy with Yun, and her only built-in multiplier is 15% physical damage while her (very weak) shield is active, which doesn't even synergise with C6 Bennett or the Chongyun+Shenhe combo. Song of Broken Pines and Redhorn Thresher are both solid weapons for a Yun driver, meanwhile, but are outstripped by options in other weapon types that offer higher multipliers instead of higher base damage; Even other millennial movement weapons offer DMG bonus where Broken Pines offers ATK, consistent with Claymores' design of being base-damage-oriented instead of multiplier-oriented. Other claymore users have various advantages that offset the weapon pool's poor synergy with Yun, but she only gets her C1 and her 15% physical dmg passive (which is actually pretty bad; physical dmg bonuses are usually significantly higher than elemental dmg bonuses, eg its 2pc artifact sets (plural because there are two, meaning they can be run together, where elements only get one each) give 25% instead of 15%). In fact, being physical is about her only advantage, since it's easy to stack up a lot of physical damage without dropping support slots on your team, and also easier to get 80% physical shred where other damage types have few shred sources beyond VV and Zhongli. But even with being a physical attacker, and even with her built-in atk speed buff (unlike razor and beidou, who actually attack very fast with their built-in buffs), she's still slow with bad hitboxes and worse multipliers than most other physical DPS options.

The best thing about her’s gotta be enabling weaker auto-attack characters into decent dmg dealers. Thoma’s animations for example are just too cool to go to waste, same as Albedo’s and even Qiqi’s. Their AA numbers are too low to be decent dps but now with Yunjin, I can imagine her buffing them greatly or at least enough for decent use in world exploration, daily comms, ley lines etc. Making these characters do AA is definitely far from meta, but for higher AR players who have nothing else to do but literally wait for new patches, Yunjin will bring back the fun in watching those beautiful AA animations from characters that don’t get to use it often.

I think there's also this fixation on abyss 12 when 1: abyss is heavily character-biased because of ley line disorders/abyssal moons/enemy rosters that change to match the current banner(s), 2: the only objective rewards from abyss are a few rolls each month, and you can get MOST of the rewards with a team that is not necessarily meta and 3: ironically the endgame for players who have all the pulls they want isn't grinding Abyss, it's doing events and new content.

Since Yun Jin, I’ve been having fun with a team I call “Childe support”. Childe + Yun Jin + C2 Barbara (+15% Hydro DMG buff when her E is active) + Zhongli (for res shred shield). It might be a bit too much hassle around Childe’s water daggers, but it’s fun and ultimately that’s all that matters. ^-^

Oh man I forgot about Fischl. Yeah, Yun is probably Liyue's Fischl (a 4* support that gets extra attention/effort; back when the game released Fischl was actually getting more love than 5*s were, Yun got her own behind-the-scenes and a major part in the new archon quest just as Fischl got her own in-depth event where Mona was just a cameo). So there's still hope they'll give her a specialised weapon.

@@whatever5401 To be fair there's merit to this because she's most likely a 4* only because her point in terms of metagame is to compete with Bennett for the title of best universal support, and open up future possibilities for popular character releases. Every character's worth in the eyes of the community pivoting on how well they synergise with Bennett and Kazuha is disadvantageous from a business perspective, so they added a third player who can potentially be more valuable than both combined, but isn't always.

I LOVE using her with Childe. Since 30 hits is really hard to use up most of the time, Childe is probably one of the very few characters who can FULLY utilize all 30 instances. And man is it satisfying as hell to watch.

I know this is a random thought but with how Yun Jin is basically a new kind of support that doesn't do elemental buffing, imagine having charged and plunge attack buffers. Ganyu, Itto, Yanfei, Ningguang, and Xiao would literally get such a big buff. It would be cool to have a plunge attack buffer that's a catalyst who would also do plunge attacks and have a diff animation for plunge attacks for a catalyst user. Just a thought,

Don't forget, Sara is to Electro what Gorou is to Geo (though he's better at it) and Raiden is to Bursts what Yun Jin is to NA's. The game will be scary when they add a character that's good for charged attacks (Itto, Ganyu) and especially scary if they add a dedicated physical support.

Yun Jin + Childe + Qiqi + Beidou is my new favorite team. Obviously Childe + Beidou is main DPS but you can also double counter with Yun Jin and Beidou for another high spike, and Qiqi will deal 30k true damage with her artifact boosted with superconduct. This is probably an abyss 12 worthy team if only my Childe build is not so trash

One thing: her Skill damage is actually pretty high, it's just that the way you build her is unlikely to benefit it much. Its potential damage is very similar to Beidou's and on-par with most pre-Inazuma characters' burst damage. The problem is that it doesn't make sense to spec her for crit stats unless you're running her as a gimmicky main DPS, and if you're running her as main DPS, you'll have a physical goblet instead of a geo goblet; Beidou, on the other hand, gets her primary damage source from an elemental driver (as opposed to yun's additive non-elemental driver), so you spec her for crit and electro, things that also buff her skill damage. If you build her for E damage you're crippling her but it'll hit really hard.

For Yun Jin weapons, I use Favonius Lance for her weapon. Prototype starglitter is other alternative F2P weapon. For Yun Jin artifacts, Husk of Opulent Dreams is the best artifact for her since her elemental burst depends on Yun Jin’s DEF. For her party setup, I team her up with Yoimiya, geo traveller, and Zhongli

Im going for C6 while also having a go at C1 Xiao. I was set on getting her the moment her kit got leaked and now that I have her C5 I'm not disappointed. She works amazingly as her niche support, but she also can do great parry damage so she offers variety in ways i want to use her. Not to mention that a parry alone is reason enough to use her. Add on top of that her beauty, elegance and you have an amazing unit. I'm really happy that she's as well designed as she is, because Thoma, Kokomi, Shenhe, Sara have all been really disappointing in their gameplay design. Not in performance, in design specifically, since they suffer from various issues that are an inherent problem in their kit. I won't go more into detail on that for now, so yeah. I love Yunjin.

I've been using Kitain Cross Spear, I'm kinda sad I didn't see it in here as an option. It gives 12 energy to her every time she uses her E skill since the cooldowns match. It takes 6 seconds to get that but her burst is also 5seconds slower than her E cooldown so by time you can burst you'll have the energy anyways.. If you did this exactly at 10sec every time. Not saying I'm optimal about it but if playing optimal, it works lol Edit: R5 kitain gives 12, that is. R1 may not be worth it. Edit: Also the colors match and that's aesthetically pleasing

@@joinmeng my point is Kitain is another option, its energy gain is comparable to Fav Lance at similar refinement except you don't need to crit. Some people get lucky on polearm billets, some get luckier on gacha weapons. Kitain is a good spear for energy so i think it should have been in the video

@@TheHigherFury Part of why people use Favonius is because it also feeds the team. Kitain doesn't. It's also an EM spear, while the Prototype Starglitter, also craftable, is ER, and will therefore help her gain more energy from particles. And it doesn't need to be refined for her either, though you can if you want to use some basic attacks with her, since it gives you a boost to normal DMG. Synergy with her own buff.

Nice video! Yesterday I could test an "almost" full capacity Yun Jin with 2500 DEF 4p Opulent (still at Lv 80 and only C2) and buffs Eula's NA full rotation by +60%, and a physical Zhongli by +150%! Still have to test her with Qiqi+Fishl. It's refreshing to know you can use almost any autoattack character for exploration and forgetting meta for a while.

I tested my half-built c1 Yun Jin two days ago with my Razor team (Qiqi or Diona for superconduct and heals, Zhongli for shred and shield and since I use The Unforged on Razor), as he's my only NA main. He can now do 19-21k when he crits counting her buffs and geo resonance. And this is just at lv 70 with artifacts half leveled up and her Q at 6! Very promising! So yeah, I'm so glad my puppy son gives me a chance to use the cute opera girl and vice versa

I got C5 Yun Jin from a Banner I wanted Chongyun, I was a little mad at first but now Im glad that she can buff Chongyun so I can run him as a main dps(something Im absolutely dedicated to do)

hello ! i also got yun jin and ayato and i want to build herso they go together. But from what i've understood about the trigger quota system, her burst only applies for 30 instances of normal attack damage. And ayato hits fast with a decent AoE, and her quota will end fast. Ever ewperienced any problems concerning it ?

@@fouzimon Hi, sorry for the late reply as I just seen your comment just now. My Ayato with c6 Yun jin buff up can do slashes up to 13 to 15x. With single target enemy there's no worry hitting over the 30 cap quota but for enemy crowd of more than 5 he can quickly use up the buff but most cases it's not a problem since he can burst them down and defeat quickly with only few slashes that means I still have the buff up for its entire duration. Hope this helps.

Even after trying multiple scenarios using ayato ingame it was hard to tell when her buff got used up or not. But from what you've told me, i won't have to worry about it. Especially with my yun jin not being c6. I guess it's one more worry out of the window... And thanks again for replying.

one of the ones that came to mind when considering yun jins set is actually xiao, he averages +150% bonus dmg setups well in his burst which actually buffs yun jins bursts by a fair amount better then most, and other then considering hit stun the math is actually same dmg output has charge atk+plunge. when i did the math for having a lvl 10/x/10 charge+plunge xiao+lvl13 burst bennett vs lvl 10/x/10 normal atk xiao+lvl 13 burst bennet+lvl 8 burst C0 yun jin, the exact MV was like 2% in favor of yunjin setup. again hitstun makes it a bit different, but the atk speed from C6 probably off sets this
