im working on a silverado with 6l80, would that zr1 torque converter work on my 6l80 aswell or is it different between car and truck

Should all bolt up without issue but realize you’ll only be bolting 3 bolts of the six on the converter unless you change the flex plate. I didn’t do that and know plenty of 1000 hp cars that only used the three. Great DD converter and hits hard as shit with the right tuner. PLEASE make sure you have a competent tuner if you’re dumping power into the 6 speed. Highly recommend Derek Dunbar at DDTech if you’re shopping for one.

I must have missed it but did you end up using the stock Flex Plate and go with the 3 Bolts? If you went with a new flex plate can you share with me the part number? Thanks

I just went three bolts in the stock flexplate. I’ll get you an SFI flexplate PN shortly!

What rpm stall is the zl1 converter

xAngel 97 2200 is the general consensus though it could be a little higher or lower depending on weight. It’s about the max you want to go for a blower car with a 6L80e short first gear.

BanditDave is the one from pace modified? I found one from GMPARTSDIRECT for WAY cheaper even with core and it’s brand spanking new.
