You should NEVER let a cat play with tinsel!! Also Brlla's tree should only be made of cat safe materials, with no lights to discourage electrocution from chewing the cords. Unless of course you plan to guard your beautiful cat's safety 24/7 until the trees come down.

Definitely agree with you Sarah. Poor Chels wanted a cat for so long and now that they have one Bella just abuses the poor girl and you see Chelsea trying SO hard to bond with her and Bella is having none of it. She swats and bites poor Chels at every turn. It’s hilarious to watch, but you also can’t help but to feel bad for Chelsea.

No tinsel on trees for cats. They swallow it and block their bowels. This includes the new Mylar version. The old lead tinsel at least dissolved with stomach acid.

It is extremely dangerous... everyone warns you about it! These two are dog lovers but not very experienced in living with a cat. I remember when they tried to take her on the lake and poor thing hyperventilated.

@@michelea8129 This happened to my cat too, he had a tinsel ball toy that I failed to take away from him and he went to town on it. 1 vet visit, 2 ER visits, x-rays, and an endoscopy later he was saved. He had a complete blockage from where his stomach met with his small intestine and there was no way he would have lived without medical intervention. Tinsel isn't allowed in my house anymore.

I have 2 cats. They love the tree. They have never climbed it. I have had to put non breakable ornaments on the bottom of the tree. They just love to lay under it. Especially when the lights are on it. I think it makes them feel warm.

Be careful with any of the long stringy tinsel (like for wrapping presents/decorations)- I had a cat who LOVED it. Specifically to eat it. We had to literally pull it out of his throat. Yuck.
