I want the two strokes back. We really lost something there. These bikes are the bomb.

I was at this race! road trip with the Benolkin family from Minnesota. Unfortunately Tom Benolkin had lost his factory ride with Team Kawasaki at the end of 82, so it was tough going against the factory bikes when he was on a stock cr250 Honda. he was also trying to come back from a ruptured spleen he injured at the St. Petersburg Florida MX National in 82. Still had alot of fun, great memories! and I was able to race the Amateur SX the day after the pros in the Astrodome! Got a photo of me looping it to prove it! LOL !!

Couldn't remember how dominate Glover was. Been watching many early 80's vids where he's usually running top 3. He looked good on his Yamaha.

Brock Glover got screwed out of the 1985 Supercross title due to politics and ended up in second place behind Jeff Ward !

You don’t get the depth of talent today like back then, so many different winners that season anyone of the Factory guys could win a race.

I wish the bike companies as well as the AMA would look into history.Notice in this event there are hardly any riders, the track was horrible and no fans in the stands. We are going through this now in 2023. The issues we have now are different. We have 4 strokes and though they are smooth its not a true racing machine and they need to go.The good looks are not enough and they need the sound. Its about the small things like the sound. We also know this was a blue collar sport and it was cool to be tough back then. Now the cool thing is finding a video on youtube. We need to get the bikes in the hands of the fastest riders and that means the blue collar kids. This would be very wild racing as we had seen in the early years. The top 20 riders need to be able to make a great living at racing or even from the beginning they will not be attracted to the sport due to parents having no interest due to the low income. At an amateur level all races need to be reported and points given per race per state. This is how you get your ranking. The racers now are just picking any number and its embarrassing unorganized.I love this sport and would do anything to get it going but it will take the bike manufactures and the AMA however it would be nice to shut down the AMA and just start a new organization that is actually organized and has interest in the sport.

Do you think Hannah had to get his mechanics to straighten out a bent shift lever or footpeg? They didn't take long before he got going again.maybe he was stuck in one gear after that pileup

Moto x ain't shit without the 2 strokes. I went to an event last week it was cool but not even close to as cool as the experience with the 2 strokes. The sound the smell and overall energy was amazing.

I had the privilege to go to a couple of supercross and a tt at the astrodome. think i was at this, was a 10 year old kid when you walked in to the dome, could hear the sound from the mezzanine, then you walk down to your seats . a veil of blue smoke hanging in the air, pure 2 stroke smell that soaked your clothes. the pa announcer yelling thro6 the whole thing. PURE MAGIC

Does anyone know if there is an affiliation between Monster Energy Supercross and NBC? As far as owners rights to show these races!

the supercross tracks of today have too many jumps that needs to change it would be nice to see the tracks like this maybe slightly different like the section of choppy bumps before the jump into the right hand turn -todays SX tracks are jump on and off small tables and a double triple and rythym section there is no area to make time everyone runs the same line cause thats what they learn which does not go with the basic concept of racing -you cant pass if you follow

This was motocross when I was a teen and it was enjoyable as a fan. But I have to admit, comparing to present day, those bikes look heavy and slow.

they look like bricks out there. they didnt know shit about building a track and jumps. jumps are too steep. riders dont look smooth at all like they do now. i know better bikes. but its the track.
