@@troygerencer1620 Yes, many people, even adults,. have very simplistic, childish taste in music.
@j.4941Ай бұрын
Well, I do absolutely recognize the perfection of her (and the bands) performance, yet still for my personal taste their music is just too heavy and „too much“. I’ll still always be amazed by the performance, but I’m not going to play that playlist very often or buy tickets. Go easier on the Strings and drums and it’ll be for me. THEN the combination of „not too heavy for my taste“ and the perfection of their delivery would make me a fan. Today… not so much.
@OJB42Ай бұрын
@@j.4941 Well, I guess you are one of those who don't understand great rock music! :) Seriously, fair enough, music is both a technical thing and a highly subjective matter of taste.
@j.4941Ай бұрын
@@OJB42 You know, maybe I was just a bit too premature about what I like… or better… I‘m back into style discovery, at the age of 47. Let me share the story: I had never bevor heard anything from Nightwish. And I never liked harder rock or metal. Ever. And not only the music, it’s the whole style around it that I never connected to even though I Iive just 50km from Wacken :) e.g. I hate the smell of beer. Then two days ago I stumbled over a Nightwish song. Couldn’t believe my ears, listened again. Listened to multiple reactions by other vocalists. Then found the „phantom“ with Floor & Henk - and I immediately realized how that is SO MUCH better than any other version I knew. Now today I found the older „phantom“ with Tarja and the hairy dude and instantly felt: this is even one more notch better: not because of Tarja, but because the rocking wildness of „hairy“ is just so very much a better fit to the somewhat scary borderline psycho character of the „phantom“. I never knew it before, but THIS is what the phantom must be, not a voice that sounds „professional“ and calm. _This_ is it! GLS, honestly, is currently still too much for me - it’s so long and complex and multi-facet, I can’t really grasp it yet. I like about half of it but not the other half. Also I discovered Elan, Alpenglow and „lanternlight“, the first song that I listened to as studio version… stuff that’s much calmer, not so hard and much less complex and easier for beginners. And since those are much easier to grasp I’m happy I found them and I’m extremely happy to realize they have stuff with „easier access“ as well. But above all I’m still here, I have been listening to this stuff for hours over the days now and the reason is not only just that there’s such good performance but also because there’s ENERGY here. Pure energy and I can’t stop to take it in. And so I will continue to explore more - not too fast, one song at a time, listen and repeat and listen to reviews and listen again… - and just maybe I’m going to be surprised by what I discover… about me. Thanks for reading!
