I can top that. We were doing a Bug Nursery Nuking mission and all four of us were in the car as I was driving us back. Now the thing about those missions is there’s a number of big holes in the ground you might not see until it’s too late. I managed to avoid one by the skin of my teeth before commenting, “Whup, that was close. That would be bad.” Before driving into another one 5 seconds later, killing all four of us and losing all our stuff from weapons to samples.

They’re doing hit and runs, as said by super earth high command. That’s why they don’t have any forts or outposts on our worlds, just ship refueling stations. I suspect that they’re looking for something, or alternatively, they’ve been spotted using citizens bodies for their machinery and the voteless. This makes me wonder if they are abducting people, turning them into voteless, and then turning them into overseers. They suffered massive casualties during the first galactic war, so it would make sense they would need more troops.

SES Martyr of Redemption here, I want to thank you for making the map of all Illuminate attacks, as I originally made the map and a few updates to it and posted it onto the main Helldivers subreddit and its LowSodium equivalent. I wanted to continue updating it, but I received requests to show which planets were won or lost, and I couldn’t find out that information which led to me not making the maps. So again, thank you for continuing my work, and dive on! P.S: If you can, draw a line starting from Calypso to all the planets the Squids have invaded. I did that with my last map, and I want to see the Squid Spaghetti again in a more modern fashion.

The overall poor response to the Illuminate attacks has to do with deployment time. There is a significant budding 'Squiddiver' faction that will only challenge the Illuminate. However since they don't hold any territory it means the 'Squiddivers' go inactive so they aren't ready to go once the Illuminate strike. In addition to this, the Squiddivers are reluctant to sacrifice poorly trending planets to move to the newest attack as soon as they happen. The Illuminate are striking like lighting and their attacks only last 12 hours. This means that every second counts and due to the slow reaction time of the Squiddivers, they don't redeploy fast enough only joining in on a defense long after the critical 9-hour remaining mark that signs the victory or defeat of an Illuminate defense. They have to be able to let go of worlds that can't be saved and focus on pouncing as soon as a new attack opens up unless the defense is trending well.

People don't truly take in the numbers of a galactic Federation / Empire / imperium there are currently 8 billion people on earth right now and real life Earth hasn't even reached max capacity meanwhile in these settings we are talking about an entire galaxy the numbers are frankly absurd and the entire population of real-life earth is nothing the creek was 27 million helldivers dead (helldivers not SEAF soldiers not even civilians just divers) through a nine-week period and if you don't think that's crazy The helldiver casualties on calypso were 37 million and that was in the course of just 3 DAYS if we were to take the entire real life human population and then draft EVERYONE for super Earth it would simply be the first couple hours of the first wave before we would run out of manpower

Damn these Illuminates! They continue their cowardly attacks while some of us were on vacation for this year's Festival of Reckoning! I must apologize for not diving during the whole week. This year's Festival of Reckoning was spent visiting my grandparents with my family. Our grandpa's just barely holding on, so we're making the most of it before he passes on. In the meantime, we were discussing our battle tactics and achievements, as a week ago I finally got to show them what a difficulty 10 operation was like for their first time. But their first Super Helldive was against the Illuminates, and as we already know, the Harvesters' are Illuminates only heavy unit deployed so far and they still have yet to establish their own mega bases. They'll need to be ready for the day that happens. Grandpa fought hard to drive off the Illuminates from our galaxy, and I must carry on his work to make sure they never set foot in it ever again!
