49er fan here. I feel proud that the Seahawks are our rivals. Your city fought for your team, thank you to Mark Collins. This is for Jen Collins. May you Rest In Peace.

I just watched this. I knew about Seattle losing the Seahawks, but I had no idea who was behind the fight to bring them back and to keep them in Seattle. Mark Collins is who started the fight and finished it. I am so truly sorry he lost his beautiful wife. He wears her Seahawks jacket to every game to keep her with him at the games. We have lost Paul Allen and just recently, we lost Mama Blue. I would like to say "Thank You" to Mark Collins for starting this fight and saving our Seattle Seahawks. You made a huge difference in our state with everything you did. Thank You again Mark Collins.

When the Hawks were stolen by Behring i watched my whole being stolen from me. Ive been a fan since the beginning, i was 4 years old and loved football. Ive seen every Seahawks game in their history, from 82' to 95' i recorded every game for my dad. Pausing for commercials, someday i will digitize them. When Allen bought the team i knew we would be a contender, thank you Mark Collins. You saved my being as a person, Seahawks sunday has been my life id be lost without it. RIP PAUL! Go Hawks!!!

This puts to bed the nation-wide myth the Seahawks had no fan base until we won SB48. Even during the toughest seasons the Kingdome was the loudest NFL stadium until its implosion, C-Link currently the loudest venue. Hawk fans ain't new to this, can you dig it?

I've been a hawk fan right from the start with my father being born in Tacoma and our family going back and forth over the year living on Whidbey island and the other place here in New Mexico. I remember the day Paul Allen buying the team. As I sat here watch this you tube clip I never new about Marks wife and her fight with cancer. I found out me and Mark have a couple things in common when it comes to our wives. My wife was a big fan of the hawks just like me and like Marks wife she passed away from cancer a few years before the Superbowl win against Denver. That Superbowl is one I will never for get for two reasons the first is that was my late wives Birthday yes she was born a ground hog and I new in my mind the hawks would win that day. The other reason is I come from a family of 11 but there should have been 12 of us but we lost a brother at birth and with half of us living so close to Denver and the other half living in Washington we have a half Denver team supporting Denver and the other half Hawk fan. It felt so good to rub the Hawk win on the other half of my brother and sisters. It was almost like my wife was there helping the Hawks win like I'm sure Mark felt his wife was also there with him at the game.. all I can say is keep on Rocking Hawks.

That’s amazing, Scott. Thanks for sharing your connection with your late wife, huge family, everything. It’s cool how a sports team can bring people together - no matter where they come from, no matter how different they may be, it allows us to have something in common. I appreciate your comment and for watching the film.

Norb, words alone are not enough to tell you how absolutely grateful I am for watching this video. As a 12 who has lived in Southern California his whole life I would never had known the Hawks without those efforts. Yes, Paul saved the team. But if it wasn't for Mark's inspirational tenacity there would be no team in Seattle. This was such a beautifully made video. Some year when Seattle creates a fan Hall of Fame he should be inducted into that.

Jose Mendoza Thank you, Jose. I appreciate your kind sentiments. Yes, Mark made a lasting impact, doing what most of us would never do - putting his money where his mouth was. That’s why I made this film - so every Seahawks fan could know the story behind the headline.
@navalpanic124 жыл бұрын
@@NorbCam The money and family sacrifice are often the most difficult part of dedicating yourself so much for such an effort. I didn't know much about Mark's wife and her struggles. Still, precious to hear that he still wears her Hawks jacket to games. To have a community so intertwined with their football team is magical. The love from the 12s for the team and the community which has blossomed from such fans like Mike and the others from the SOS org and beyond...no value or fiscal number can placed on that.
@NorbCam4 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Especially in this time where so many teams have moved recently. We are lucky to be the only team that was stopped from moving, otherwise we would be like the Rams, Chargers, Raiders and numerous other fan bases who have been left empty handed, probably never to have a pro football team again.
@navalpanic124 жыл бұрын
@@NorbCam I live about an hour and a half north of San Diego. I've witnessed that city hurt deeply in the loss of the Chargers. During the time that the city of SD was making proposals to the Chargers they were looking into the known fiscal impact of the city. What they didn't gather was that this effort very short cited. They didn't realize the immense impact beyond the city...that the Chargers being there impacted the entire county, and not just the city. I don't know if they'll ever move back, though so many of us wish they would. For me I love the Seahawks not because they are a football team and have had great success, but because they represent Seattle and the PNW. If the Seahawks would move I wouldn't care for them. For me it's always community first.

I lived in Seattle my whole life and moved to Alaska in 2001 this was an incredibly scary time for all the diehard Seahawks fans. People now don’t truly understand how close we came to losing the team. I can’t stand soccer but that might have been the nudge that pushed it through with the voters. Now it seems outrageous that the Seahawks didn’t have the support but those that were there remember. Thanks Mark and all the SOS I went to several events they were great. Thank you to Paul Allen you are the savior!!!

Yep 2 Seahawks bright spots in the 90s and believe me there wasn't to many bright spots in the 90s but 2 bright spots were Sam Adams and Cortez Kennedy both of those guys had high character,but they were absolute great run stuffers go luck trying to run against them 2 giants. and Cortez and Sam they did it together for awhile. 1997 or it might have been 98 it was late in the season we were playing the NY Jets all we had to do is win this game ,but the refs decided to give good old QB Vinny Testaverde a rushing TD when U could see clearly he was 2 yards short of the goal line and the Jets game pretty cost coach Dennis Ericskon his job. Yep the Hawks in the 90s 💯 living hell. BTW that Seattle Seahawks NY Jets game that cost us a Wild Card spot one good thing came out of it ,that's when they decided to bring back challenges instant replay. PS I THINK THIS LANGUAGE IS FITTING 😂 F@@KING THANK U MARK COLLINS CALIFORNIA HAS ENOUGH PRO SPORT TEAMS IF U DIDN'T GET PAUL ALLEN ON BOARD WE WOULD'VE BEEN F@@KED SITTING IN A BOAT UP S@@T CREEK WITHOUT A PADDLE IT WAS DAMN CLOSE TO SAYING GOODBYE TO ARE HAWKS THANKS MARK ‼️

That's because you were big on figure skating and never was a football fan.
@projekt6795 жыл бұрын
sam hawkz That’s very true. Figure skating was and still is a huge sporting event in not only Tacoma but all of Seattle. I remember your dad was with me running around in fruity spandex pants to watch the 49ers and not the Seahawks. I was also dating your mom who was a big Raider fan. Lets get something straight here. Let’s talk facts. Not assumptions or fiction of who I am or what you think Seattle was like in the 90s. Facts: 1. Seattle was still a growing city in the 90s. It was known for Sir Mix a lot, the baseball team, and the music scene. That’s why the Supersonics left. 2. This documentary talks about a Seahawks culture which is bullshit! Majority of the fans were 49er and Bronco fans or something else. 3. The fan base was like what was said in this documentary. Virtually one person...Paul Allen! At best the fan base was the size of a small subculture, smaller than the gothic and grudge one. 4. This so called fan base just recently came about when I returned in 2013. It’s new so stop trying to pretend like it’s something that’s been around for awhile.
@TCLucas405 жыл бұрын
That's nice. So, because you don't remember a fan base means it didn't exist? Was the vote then rigged? You must be the dislike and also, why the fuck are you watching? Troll.
