Love that you added how to fish, rig it, and the video of the actual flies! Here in New York, the Sulphur hatch has been incredible as well.

I have been watching your videos for years and have been amazed at your skill across so many different patterns. When I first started tying flies back in 2016 I watched a lot of KZbin videos on how to tie flies and I will tell you this, you are the best I have seen. You are highly skilled at fly tying but what really sets you apart is your ability to communicate exactly what the viewer needs to know in order to tie the pattern, helpful tips and humor all without being too wordy. You are a gifted communicator. The camera angle also makes a huge difference to help people understand what you’re doing, the way they see it in front of them. Any way, I’ve been wanting to thank you all these years and I figure it was high time I did. You have helped me so much to learn how to do something I enjoy so much. Thank you!

Hi Tim. Undoubtedly one of the very best fly tying channels on KZbin hands down! Please keep up the excellent work. Tom T from NJ

One of things that really helped me when I started tying was that your videos were from the perspective of the person tying - i.e. the hook eye on the right! Seems like a small thing, but I still like this view, so thanks! You are the BEST!

What a prolific library of videos! Based on the flies in your videos (iso, sulphur, trico, BWO), i figured you were NNJ, CT, or WMA. Would love to see your best choice for a Hendrickson emerger. The 2 things your videos have that no one else has are (a) flies in nature and (b) what the tied fly looks like on the water. Keep it up!

Great video and pattern, man. On the Brodhead, when the Sulphurs are out but the fish not eating your patterns, throw a Rusty Spinner or a Soft Hackle fished dry!

That was a great tying tutorial video, and that last part with the underwater shot looking up, was a really nice touch from the trout`s point of view. Thank you for going to all the trouble to make these great videos.

Love it. I like the natural snowshoe for wings and sometimes I’ll tie on a zelon trailing shuck. Sink it into the film and don’t even bother trying to watch the fly (besides, it’ll probably be 20min before completely dark. They always take it. Every time. Lol I’m not far from you (upstate NY) but the sulphurs that come off on one of my home streams are creamsicle orange-colored. I do see pale yellow sulphurs, size 14, usually in day time, but are sporadic in number.

Any idea what has caused the prolific sulphur hatch? Wondering if there are any clues in your observation to what our summer & fall hatches in the West will look like (post our massive runoff)

Killer fly again. Love a relevant pattern for the time of year. Hatch densities may have been due to weather conditions and cold temperatures driving the majority to go off in abundance. Keep those dropper rigs short to avoid tangling.

Tim, thanks for the detail around how you rig and present the fly. I fished the sulphur hatch with a guide last year and we used a very similar set of patterns that all incorporated some flash material like this one. Thanks!

@@tightlinevideo Just busting your balls, everything has its scenario. Plus like you said, more of an indicator than the main fly you are fishing.
