Thanks for the review and comparison Computer Tech, The Mega Cool 120 seams to be decent but the higher RPM a little bit to noisy. I've been very happy with Lian Li UniFan P28 and personally bought two of these to use as rear exhaust on air build PC's. (Sound profile and pushing of air to be very pleasant)

thank you for watching and sharing your experience with the P28. I consider it a top 120mm fan in my testing as well.

I was very impressed. I wish I had a 2nd one / budged to disassemble one. to actually verify if it has 12 poles.

Was the A12x25 retested? The data doesn't line up with your other videos.

haha actually yes. I re-ran a bunch of fan to make sure my anemometer was reading correctly after a year of use. had to re-average many fans. sharp eyes. I have it written down for myself somewhere where it effected before vs after. Since I dont have equipment to validate the fans performance I can only keep things accurate with each other so scaling works. :/ not ideal. all in all around 20 fans needed retesting. so not to bad.

Have you considered any possibilities that cardboard might amplify the sound generated by the due to the vibrations?
@JerryWoo96
@JerryWoo96 26 күн бұрын
hopefully u can modify the setup to mount the fan to sound insulators instead, so the sound won't reverberate through the material that the fan is mounted to.

@@JerryWoo96 its 2 pieces of cardboard hotglued together. And foam stuffed around the insert. But yes that is a concern, but ive tried my best to minimize it. Ive done basic noise readings on 1 piece of cardboard (similar results) like 1 or 2 dB difference. my end goal is more like an actual front panel from a PC case. But I dont have the budget for that, yet. edit: Im actually in the process of testing a noise reduction chamber. Part of it is a newer attachment interface. with some dampening. Every material and design has a harmonic / resonant frequency. I forget if it was toms hardware, igors or someone else but my PWM / RPM for the DeepCool FK120 lined up with theirs for resonant frequencies. but that doesnt mean mine will line up for all theirs. I bring this up like your comment. the cardboard could have a different frequency that would cause amplified noise that a lets say metal one would not. I just have to be consistent.

ive been using my 3* t-30s for a year now and not planning to replace them till they break. they are too expensive to throw away

haha ya. There are some expensive fans out there. Just trying to show options and how fans compare.

What a joke of a "review." Spends more than half of the video covering use cases where these will NOT be used (case fans, air coolers), and devotes ZERO time to the actually relevant use case for such a high performance, high static pressure fan--liquid cooling radiators. And the U12A air cooler is not even close to a similar representation. Various thickness liquid cooling radiators is the absolute most important category to test with fans like this and the other T30 competitors, since nobody in their right mind is using these as bloody case fans. Ridiculous.

I'm sorry you feel that way. but not sure what you mean. I have validated testing with this fan on an actual thick radiator. As it turns out air speed thru the Rad and thru the cooler are equivalent. So....... Putting it on the cooler they way I'm currently doing testing is 100% valid. Its true this shouldn't be used as a case fan but for completeness of testing it should be tested. Otherwise i am just like all the terrible fan reviewers out there. Now if you would like to see improved testing might I suggest joining on patron or becoming a youtube member. as right now this channel is unsponsored and I dont have the money to build a custom loop system to do this type of testing. I have commented many times that my end goal is to add this tested once i have the finances to do this.

Going to hard disagree with you. In the video he clearly states he as a Radiator in testing now but the air speeds thru it are equivalent to the U12A. And if youv'e watched any other videos you know this is a small channel. Building up what tests it has and can do thanks to community support. Way to be off kilter. The fact this channel is as small as it is and generating this level of detail and analysis is amazing. You got one thing right though you are ridiculous.

Ok ok before you two actually fight. @bjn714 I have tested 4 rads and selected one for further testing. See video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6nPoGmNhdVjsLs All had very similar air speeds going thru it vs my air cooler. Now if I had a test system I could do thermal testing. But I am not a cooling solution testing channel yet. I just dont have the $$ to finance that yet. I am limited by what I can afford to invest into this channel. I am not large the LTT or GN. I am just me. I have no sponsors. If you want to see better testing again become a youtube member or patreon. I have plans for what tests I actually want to do and how to do it. One is Thermal testing in both air and water cooled systems.
