45:20 as a Taiwanese Canadian... I am not in favor of merging with the united state. Even if we maintain sovereignty over the province (e.g Overwhelming % of Canadian are against Gun sale/ownership) You can't just look at the benefits of the merger and missed out why Canadians don't want to merge with United States despite the financial benefits. The United States will be able to use the Resource in Canada instead of letting it sit there. it'll be same as asking N.Korea to merge with S.Korea since S.Korea will be able to develop the source.... in fact S.Korea's GDP has a good chance of hitting reaching top 5-6th globally if that were to happen. Or a merger between Taiwan and Mainland China (make use of both the human resource and etc...) Idealogy - Canada is not the same as America even if we share the same language. Putting aside the financial burden the current PM did to Canada... !!!Actually, I'll simplify it with this statement. The lands sovereignty isn't for sale; Canadians values many things ABOVE economics and this is something TAIWAN can relate during the Sunflower movement. Needless-to-say; I do think Trump can come up with appealing offer so I won't say it can never happen in the next few decades but Not likely to happen as it stands right now. Unless United State wants to use the same tactic Beijing/Russia did to its neighbors to try to WIN (THEIR LANDS and NOT the hearts of the people who live here for decades+)... it'll still take multiple years for any referendum for that to be consider possible. If United State target to grab 1-2 province (like Putin to Chimera or if Beijing grab the smaller islands).... it'll only trigger everyone else to reject America/United State's merger as a whole.
