You know Leather Head (Your level nine alligator) his second ability gives him taunt and amor ( Amor is the buff where you take no damage from the first attack you receive when you get the buff) so you could have saved Slash when you went against mutagen man and for a bonus if you get the ability to a high enough level you get to amors
