His ability to look human is not power related. L Corp has start making selling a device that gives aliens a human hologram disguise thing. No one is being force to use these things. The public knows about space aliens, but some aliens prefer to hide their alien side in the public. This device gives those aliens that option. In this episode someone was trying to computer severs that monitor these devices so that all hologram suits would get shut down. This season there are doing a number story arches involving bigotry and xenophobia. Xenophobia was part of the hacker's motive as she was wanting to try expose all the aliens all at once.

If they want to make a transgender superhero fine, but do it with intelligence. There is plot loop hole in this character's arc. Nia made it clear the power was passed from mother to daughter she was born a boy nothing will change that. Even her sister mentioned she wasn't a real girl so adding this mother to daughter detail was stupid and was not thought out. Might be a reason why rating started to tank. It seems they don't put much thought into the story arcs.
