So many ridiculous and immature posts on here. This show is called "Supergirl" because it's about SUPERGIRL - doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Superman has had plenty of screentime on film and TV, and quite frankly, doesn't need yet another re-telling. If a certain group of fans prefer to have Superman as the lead character, than petition to the CW and the DC TV-verse producers about it. Don't come on here hating on Supergirl and its cast for no other reason than the fact that you can't take her as the big lead. It's not like the show is suddenly going to re-dub itself as Superman for a bunch of haters, especially when so many other fans absolutely love and support it. Do people have nothing better to do with their time than hate on a TV series? Don't like it? Don't watch it. So simple.

One of the things that really upset me in S1, was this "Clark Kent" issue. Obviously, this show it's calles Supergirl for a reason but it was disrespectful to see Superman in texts, chats or boots, so.... or you bring him or you erased him but don't do that to a iconic character like Superman.

Beatriz A. Cervantes Rodríguez I respectfully disagree. While I can see where you're coming from, they needed to establish Supergirl on her own without any distraction from Superman precisely because he is so iconic - I was surprised that they even showed his cape and boots to be honest. Just because a character isn't fully shown and merely alluded to, doesn't mean it was done out of disrespect. On the contrary, if they had brought him in as a full character in S1, that would have been majorly disappointing and "disrespectful" to Supergirl's character, as well as to the many female (and male) fans out there who wanted a standalone series with her. Plus, it's a TV series and they knew they would have plenty of time to bring Superman in later on. Now that they've finally established Kara and the relationships surrounding her, they can bring him in fully. In addition, you have to understand that on the production side of things, there has been a lot going on politically with clashes between the DC TV and film universe. For instance, certain characters that had been written into Arrow were cancelled in the later stages because they were set to appear in the "more major" DC movies, and while the portrayal of characters in the movies are vastly different from those on TV, the people "up there" somehow found it necessary to pull characters originally meant for the various TV series. This is probably part of the reason behind waiting to reveal Superman's face - the "up there"s wouldn't have wanted too much controversial comparisons between this portrayal of Superman vs Zack Snyder's version, especially because they're set in wildly different atmospheres with contrasting tones - the world of TV's Supergirl is brighter, more comical, filled with more hope and light, while Zack Snyder's world is spmbre, dark and bleak...There'll always be comparisons drawn between character portrayals, but I'm betting the "up there"s wanted to wait till the big BvS movie was over before yet another Superman was introduced to avoid the simultaneous clash between fandom camps. I personally dislike Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill's Man of Steel - he's definitely not the hero I grew to love growing up, but that's just my humble opinion.

That's OK. I understand your opinion, and it's totally understandable. I like the show, but I love superman... so I was hoping not to see him at all! Maybe at first like the cape, or the shape form but that was it, but no, the constantly bring him up in forms that I didn't like and the season finale with the "boots" and "he still in the mind control mode" really bothered me. (That's was the part I felt disrespectful for Superman) It was better if... I don't know... since the begining, was out of the planet on a mission, so that way it's only Supergirl and no Supergirl and the guy in the chat, so I like that at least now... he has face. It's a risk move by Supergirl, I hope they can handle, because with Superman and Wonder Woman in the universe.... it's going to be hard to mantain the focus on Kara.

Tyler seems like a good sport. His Superman should be interesting and fun to watch on the small screen. Sorry Smallville fans. He looks more like Superman than Tom Welling ever did. Most importantly, he is not just playing Clark Kent but he is willing and able to don the suit and cape to play the Superman. A live action Superman has really been absent from the small screen since that Lois & Clark show in the 90s. The fans can't wait to see his return.

He spent 10 seasons playing that character so why would he return? That's not progress for him, it's trying to recapture past glories. That time has been and gone, he's moved on and Smallville fans need to move on too. I don't know Tyler, or if he can act, but I think he definitely has the right look. As soon as I saw him on the panel I thought that he must be the new Supes. Whatever happens he can't be any worse than Dean Cain's Superman/Clark.
