Great build. I have a suggestion that might make this a little more usable in a super suit. I'd mount the headphone jack in the side of the enclosure instead of the top. That would make it a little lower profile and keep the headphone cord from getting snagged on things which could possibly unplug it or damage the cord.

Have you ever thought of adding something like a wrist mounted BB gun? I think it would be cool. Also some type of compressed gas (likely Co2) type rope launcher, it could shoot strong thick fishing line with a strong sticky substance/piercing tip, almost like a web shooter of sorts. Great job 2 suggestions, redesign the holders to be like that of an animal with a great range of hearing for focusing of the sound and make 2 distinct units one for left and one for right so you have true 360 surround sound Super hearing

The left and right are completely independent so it is true stereo sound. I've tried using some focusing before but it only improves it slightly and looks silly.

He didn't mention it, but the audio could likely be capped to a certain level by the circuit board. At the very least, the audio would never go above what the headphones could produce.

You can buy hunter ears pretty cheap from Bass Pro,Cabellas or off of eBay,or Amazon. They can be had for under $20,and are essentially hearing aids. They would take up a lot less room,work just as well,and would be easier to implement than your setup.

El Capitan how much would you charge to make two of them head sets with large 3D printed “ears” like 2 times our size ( i want to know exactly where sounds are coming from ) without being disoriented. The mic to talk ? Maybe into the PTT on our GSM two way radios. ( i dont have a 3d printer and ive tried to build boards ( i want it to actually work not just the light come on 😩. We do paranormal investigations in swamps and we get blind sided sometimes esp as my buddy is half deaf he puts me in jeopardy. Actually how about big ELF ears !!! Lol definitely.

Just some constructive criticism, what if someone where to shoot at you with the super hearing and suit on. It would be x50 louder. that would have to cause major discomfort, if not deafness.

That is what i was thinking, also even if this would have filter to take out the loud sounds, what is pain in the ass on its own, you would still run into problem of what sounds to filter and what to listen.. also if someone shoots at him... well hearing loss is least of his problems as that ballistic vest really dont do much.. It needs to be full body suit+ helmet with out openings. Ou this funky looking guy didnt die from first two bullets.. mmh lets shoot him into chin, or neck area.. Biggest thing he currently can do is to prevent crime by being around, suit like that most likely just acts as bullet magnet if i'm honest... mmh there was this company that made normal looking clothes that had level 3 body armor rating and if i recall right it was whole body, where vest is just the vital organs. Maybe they could help out with this problem... and some one is thinking that there is no need cause there is no guns in area where he lives... your simply wrong, there is illegal firearms in every fucking country there is, how ever far left anti-gun country that would be...

This is really cool and I get that its mostly for props, but if you brought this stuff in a fight you'd get your ass kicked, less mobility, lots of dead weight, lots of stuff shifting and moving around on your body. You'd be better off carrying a pair of scrimmage sticks (2 bow staff halves). Allthough it does carry a very good intimidation factor.

So, what happens if someone screams at you? Does it amplify the scream and make you deaf? I mean, I dont have super hearing, but I ve been stunned dizzy by screams two times in my life. Once when I was like 6 years old. I accidentally pinched my lil neighbor s fingers with the window, and he screamed and I actually got dizzy. Could barely stand up. The second time, I was in 8th grade, I was talking with a friend, and he was telling me something and then he stopped, and I thought he was gonna say something else, so I kept staring at him. And he got nervous, and suddenly, he shouted ''What?!'' at me, I actually felt like it actually pushed me back. Then we were talking about that.
