We need to convert ti to fixed IF (such fixed 10,7 MHz or 455 kHz) because it would be a lot of undesired harmonics when tuning the scale on VHF from 87,5-108 MHz through many amplifying transformers and when amplifying this range frequency through transformers for amplifying and selectivity, there would be a lot of undesired harmonics on each different frequency tuned, that is why you convert it to fixed intermediate frequency (IF) and then you work on it for selectivity, limiting, amplifying, demodulating.

I'm not even an engineer, and I'm detecting so many errors in explanation. This video is really meant to pass exams, not for understanding the concept. Antenna also has a range it's best at. FM radio antenna won't be good enough for MW. etc It's not receiving "all" frequency according to this explanation, the RF amp is selecting only the frequency we want. Which is not the case. It's vaguely selecting a bunch of frequencies around the ones we want. If it really selected one frequency, we wouldn't need the whole superhet circuit. The actual conversion of the radio waves to audio waves is happening in the detector. Which comes all the way in the end.

For RF amplifier its not so much that is "selects" the desired frequency but more so that it improve the SNR of the desired signal more than the surrounding noise. Selecting a desired frequency is more often done by band pass filters which allow only a specific range of frequencies and tunes out the frequencies that are outside of the desired range.
