As a cat owner, I think that the children's cries when catnap shows up ARE actually HIS voice. It sounds FAINTLY like meowing, and as a cat owner, I've heard some VERY strange meows coming from my cats over the years.

Catnap is already freaking terrifying to me, but if those child screams are coming from him, then that's SO horrifying and creepy in the saddest way possible. Obviously the distorted screams could've just been there to make the trailer even spoooookier, but gosh, idk what would be worse, silent Catnap or Catnap that makes sounds like a terrified/hurt kid...

@@underfellgirl1375 The more I think about it, the less likely I think it is that Catnap will make any sounds (at least throughout the entire chapter). He's never shown to make noise in the cartoons or trailers, and since he was made to put kids to sleep, Playtime might not have even made it possible for him to make noise. Only way I can see him being able to now is if the Prototype did something. But if he can make noise, I think it might be best to leave that until the end/last chase sequence (if there is one). Since the chapter looks like it could be longer than the first two, Catnap making noise for the entire chapter might be a bit desensitizing (theoretically at least, I'll probably be creeped out by it every time lol).

I think Catnap is horrifying regardless of if those child-crying-like meows are really what he sounds like (although if it is, hes got a lot of monsters beat already). The worst of it though is his permanent, toothless grin staring down your soul, that is the uncanny face of nightmares.

I gotta say, Chapter 3 looks like it is really leaning in more into the horror aspect. Catnap looks way more scarier than Huggy Wuggy and Mommy Long Legs, and I love it. And also the whole cult thing has interested me. I'm eager to see how fanatical Catnap and the rest are to The Prototype.

its crazy to see how far poppy playtime has progressed since 2021. from a 20 minute long cheap horror game to a fully lengthened out horror game that actually looks scary and terrifying. ggs to the devs EDIT: i've seen alot of people talking about how bad this game was and some talking about how its a game for kids, and i just wanted to point out the fact that poppy playtime WAS originally meant to be a horror game, its just the fact that the mascots looked friendly enough to turn into child content, which made youtube kids channels MILK THE HECK OUT OF IT. thats why everyone hated the game, i bet that if u search poppy playtime right now you'll probably find one youtube kids video or two. still though leaving out those minor bad things about the game its a really good horror game and i think it deserves to be in the top 10-20 best horror games tbh and the new models and the dark atmosphere of the game really make it stand out as a good horror game. My thoughts were that the voice sounds like a defeated and jaded Elliot Ludwig. Perhaps the theory that he is the Prototype isn’t too far off… Regardless, it inserts an interesting new twist to the series. Obviously whoever this is survived the hour of joy and lived long enough to see the experiments run the facility and factory, meaning they survived far longer than their comrades. So either the mad ramblings of a scientist, living or dead. Or perhaps, the words of a man who (possibly) became a monster not because of experimentation, but because he watched as his dream, life’s work, and the research he hoped to bring back his daughter be instead bastardized and used to inflict unspeakable pain and horror on those who he always sought to help and bring joy to.

The combination of story and slow drip of information, along with the increasing darkness of the narrative has me hooked. My theory is that THAT Huggy isn't real. Notice the distortions, the hollow eyes, and the dreamlike coloring. Our player character probably got hit with the hallucinogenic poppy gas. The Playtime Co. Poppy Gas has been known to cause nightmares in the children, so the player experiencing a nightmare about his trauma at the end of chapter 1 doesn't seem all that far off.

My theory is that the mistery voice belongs to Bobby Bearhug, the voice sounds similar to the one heard in the cartoon trailer, maybe he's hiding from the others cause he's afraid but still tries to comunicate with the player, what if the statue of him is like a speaker and he's speaking through it?

From a purely personal POV, one thing I love in video games is a feeling of _progression._ To not only advance a story, but to gain new and interesting abilities to make use of, thus making me feel like the devs respect me enough, to say "You made it this far, but let's see how you handle _this."_ We get _two new hand-powers._ I feel the "flare" seems underutilized, but they showed how it works for puzzles and combat, I suppose... But the _"launcher"_ looks sick as hell. I hope it's as fun as it looks, and can be used for more than just "Developer-intended traversal". Like reaching secret areas if you go off a launch pad from a different direction than intended.

I hope the insect figure is based around a Butterfly. The 'dress" the figure wears could just be it's wings folded to resemble a dress when not in use. and its antennae kind of have that classic butterfly curl to it tbh. Plus if you go to the Poppy Playtime wiki there's a blueprint for a rejected toy called "Love Bug" here's her description "Love Bug is a light green insect resembling a butterfly, but she has ears and only two legs, something that a butterfly doesn't exhibit. She has yellow wings with hearts on them, along with a crescent and heart on her stomach. She also has stubby legs and arms, along with small ears." I know it's a rejected toy but what if they revamped Love Bug and made her the insect teacher in Playcare?

The main character was an orphan who was employed and later turned into a toy but managed to escape from the factory is what I'd like to believe. That's probably why we never hear any dialogue from him. Most likely not a human but has strong ties to the factory

For the Toy theory: In the official trailer #1 this is a what Poppy says: "I need you so we can get revenge on those monsters who tortured you, who've tortured us" and glances at both the player and Kissy Missy. For the Employee Theory: When Mommy Long said "you worked here" she also said "so if anyone deserves to die alone, it's you." This makes me think that the MC turned on the other orphans by associating themselves/working as an employee with the Playtime factory masterminds.

She displays passive aggressiveness towards the MC but letting him play games at the game station and even before that remarks that "it'd be like old times" playing at the game station. We also know for a fact that the MC was a genius (most likely scoring perfectly at the games he played in earlier) and that's why he would have been recruited to work with the other scientists after being observed.

My personal theory on this is that possibly this hour of joy was like the purge, and some toys were able to survive the temptation of attacking and tried to hide and get the kids to safety, and that’s how we hear the mat kid on the microphone, because he was able to escape and record this for other survivors

I think the new "corrupted" huggy is supposed to reference the "HuggyImage" png in the game files, it has the same atmosphere with a scary feeling. You can find the png, in TetraBitGamings video or just digging through the game files. Edit: I was correct, it was based off of the HuggyImage in the Chapter 1 Files, there is a seperate map in the Chapter 3 Files that shows a prototype version of the same room Corrupted Huggy will spawn in and when we insert the VHS in it shows the same picture that I predicted to be the reference.

I reckon that the 'new' Huggy is definitely a hallucination caused by Catnap. His gas can cause nightmares from prolonged exposure and if you look at the head of the 'new' Huggy it's shape is the same as Catnap's so there's that too. If not a genuine hallucination it could be a mind bending effect of the gas during a Catnap chase sequence covering up Catnap using the player character's memories of previous chapters. In addition the prototype has claimed the real Huggy and mommy long legs's torso so they aren't coming back as evidenced by the giant effigy teaser image for this chapter. Also I reckon there's gonna be a section to get the gas mask were the player must navigate the red gas without the mask to get to the mask, hence the nightmare Huggy chase.

Personally, I really hope the distorted Huggy we see in this trailer is the Huggy we knew from Chapter 1, who so happens to survive the fall. I think it would be way cooler than a hallucination. Also our Protagonist being an orphan who managed to escape coming back to face their trauma rather than be an ex-employee sounds dope. I like it!

The version of Huggy... was as terrifying as Catnap. The new items, new enemies, the tape with "The Hour of Joy", new environments, everything looks amazing, and I think that's what makes it even more horrifying at this point. But it's possible that the figure in the schoolhouse could be Candy Cat with a human like appearance since I saw two antennas on their head and the figure was female in design. So, it's possible that it could be a failed version of Candy Cat that was later used to be with the children at the orphanage. That's what I think anyway. But for certain, this will be the scariest chapter

I've been SO excited for this trailer, got to watch the premiere of this right before you posted your reaction! So the teacher with the insect-like features is a favorite of the devs as it was teased on their Discord. They teased the weeping angel mechanic too, saying it was related to Dr Who. With seeing DogDay the way he is in the little plush form, does this mean DogDay can contort as we saw a much bigger version of him in the first gameplay trailer. With Huggy coming back the way he is, it is no surprise it would be a hallucination as a lot of the people mentioned the red sleeping gas is more like an opium sleeping gas, as we will guess it's made from the poppies used to experiment on the other orphans. I think the mystery voice is the same guy who spoke on the tapes, telling us about 1006 updates. I honestly am starting to think we would more likely be a child experiment that survived. Either way, I am so excited to see Ch 3! Less than a week until it comes out, and I'll be on the edge of my seat THE ENTIRE TIME!

My thoughts on the Huggie is two things: 1.) That’s a hallucination brought on by Catnap’s smoke. 2.) Catnap can shapeshift into horrible nightmare like creatures and is using Huggie’s visage. I’m leaning to the second one because the way it was moving was similar to the way Catnap moved.

wanted to point out...they updated the green hand's electricity charge...instead of glowing fully, it now only has the joints glow also want to point out...the Huggy is indeed real, as its moment in the trailer lacks any red smoke in the area, so no way for the hallucinations to have been caused

Crazy to this its been 2 whole years when poppy playtime was just a small 20 to 30 minutes game to chapter 2 stepping it up with world building and puzzles and then chapter 3 comes in which i bet is better then the first and second the devs stepped it up alot with designing and the story so props to the devs

I dread to think those screams came from gregory, either during the accident where he got burned, or during his surgery to become catnap. And Catnap looks horrifying. gives me the same feeling as Springtrap. visual horror is only a small part, its the psychological asect of knowing just whats under that artificial skin and what it has done and what it has no problem doing again. That thing is half starved and hungry for the flesh of those it deems a heretic....

One of the things I like about Poppy Playtime is that it feels (so far) like a cohesive story. There’s enough building on the previous chapter’s story that it feels planned. Do I think they had everything pinned down from the start? No, they probably had some parts that just said “stuff happens” or “stuff happened”, but it feels like they had the key points laid out from the beginning.

If we assume the narrator is Elliot then the theory that he is kind is getting falsified in some sense. I mean if he knew playcare while he was alive there is no way to believe that. And also it kind of hints that Elliot is not the rumoured prototype. I believe this because I don't think they would have took the trouble of making playcare if plans for BBI was not their. But at the same time I believe my theory can be falsified because whatever the employee notes are there, they don't seem to be intended to be delivered to Elliot hinting he was already dead before BBI started

They also reference Project Playtime, as the vending machine clearly resembles the soda vending machine, though in chapter 3 it's long broken. What broke it? An employee slowly going insane because of CatNap's gas? Candy Cat looking for a drink? What? All I can confirm about it's purpose in this game is that we have to move it, as it has colored handprints on it, just like the box used to "kill" Huggy Wuggy in Chapter 1 and the vent entrance in Chapter 2.

The different lighting makes it clear that this Poppy does have organic eyeballs in her porcelain head, or someone was deranged enough to paint ocular muscles and blood vessels on the backs of them even though most people would not see any of that. Pretty sure that wasn't the case with the Ep 1 and Ep 2 Poppies, which may lend credence to there being more than one. The 'Welcome Home' message could be Laith Pierre or someone using his voice after co-opting his body.

I theorize that the reason CatNap was taken off the shelves was because his gas was mixed in with the gas that causes nightmares and it would explain why they pipes are burst in the 2nd trailer. I believe that maybe at some point the pipes were bursted before the hour of joy and then utilized by the prototype to disorient the staff to kill them off easier. I believe in that tape for the hour of joy we will see it happen, maybe maybe not i don’t know, but it would be cool.
