In left hemicolectomy it written in bailey to ligate IMA near it's origin high up..but sir you are telling to ligate left colic and sigmoidal artery except last branch ..is this updated?

Avoiding to ligate close to the root so as to preserve the nerve plexus that is closer to the root of IMA. Also, the nodal clearance at that area is enough and that is the only aim of high ligation. So, if you achieve clearance, low ligation is as good across studies with better nerve preservation
