I finally got SD3 last week after years of using SD2. And boy I'm glad I did.... Gonna have to tell our drummer we don't need him anymore. 😅

For the amount of kits and sounds we get from SD3, I am so grateful to see the program at $500CAD. Thank you Toontrack!

Thank you!!! You can't even buy one of the snares for $500. Let alone probably $100,000 in drums, being recorded through $80,000 of mics, and $100,000s of gear, in one of the best rooms on planet earth

The studio is around the corner. I recorded myself in smaller studios in Belgium and London, but super cool to get a look inside Galaxy Studios. Always wanted to record there, but way over our budget haha :-)

When you think about it, the 300 to 400 dollar price tag isn't really that expensive when considering the amount of work that went into making this program. I thought it was going to be around 1000+

Thank you for thinking about this. In addition to recording time there were also years (literally) of software development that went into Superior Drummer 3. Cheers.

Thats a lot of money for a drum program, it would never make its money back at that price point.
@najinelson67424 жыл бұрын
Well, if take into consideration that most other drum plugins give you drum sounds with highest processed quality without that much annoying rooms like SD3, then SD3 shlould not cost more than half the price. SSD5 is USD 99 at the moment!

I’ve had SD3 for a week now and bought the decades pack almost right after an at first you think it’s an insane price, then you try it and get blown away by the sound, then you watch videos like this and all of a sudden that price tag is really low, you get drums that would cost an insane amount of money, even drums that are so rare they should be on museums! Really for nothing and the core library is the one costing the most so just close your eyes then and after that the amount gets a bit lower, well worth it

Just got it and love it. I am using it for my drum covers and have it linked up through midi in my DAW using my Roland td 25k. Superior Drummer 3 is an amazing tool and is well worth the price, nothing comes close to it.

Actually George, what I don't believe is that I can't seem to drill down to the individual instruments in the groove section any longer like I did in SD 2! I also can't believe that the keyboard shortcuts for the mac use the wrong keys (alt instead of command) unlike almost every other program ever (or at least since the keyboard shortcuts were created!).

Hi, You can find many videos on how the drums and presets sound at our website as well as among our KZbin videos. If you follow this link and click "Learn more about the mixer" you'll get some audio demos from the different collaborators we've had making presets for Superior Drummer 3 www.toontrack.com/product/superior-drummer-3/#section-mixer

You can not download a demo version and after two days of checking and comparing SD3 I know why. You would need tons of hardware to achieve the sound quality of SSD, AD or BFD with SD3 stock drum kits. No available demo is not fair at all! And to choose a big hall for recording drums for daw studio production, I am really not sure if that was the best idea....who would need all these huge room and ambient sounds for drums that you in most cases want to sound being played in small, medium sized rooms or chambers. Mr Massenburg calls it a "room", well you show us this "rooms", it is more a hall because of the pretty large size.

You can adjust the mix to get a very dry studio sound also. SD3 gives you all the options to pick from, while sounding natural still.
@ynotsammy3 жыл бұрын
You can toon out all the large ambient sounds to get a nice tight studio kit. SD3 is highly customizable. It goes much deeper than you think.

I cant wait for superior engineer....Then superior mixer.... Then superior mastering. Then, there wont be ANY people left in the process of music making. A.I. will do it all......so we can just shop online all day to fill our 500 square foot home with more stuff than we need.
