Classic Tragedy just dropping this out of nowhere. Not that they have like social media or anything but like I just was on bandcamp going through the "hardcore punk" tag and it popped up. None of my friends knew either. I think they just live in a cave between album making heavy riffs.

I met Todd once and he told me he and his brother go through periods where they get along and periods where they don't. Tragedy is active during periods where they are getting along. This album came out in 2018 and I had had this conversation with him in November 2019 at a Nightfell show. At that particular point, they weren't getting along. But yeah, once I knew that it totally explained the long hiatuses between records. I wish I got to see Tragedy on this albums shows.

@commbir51484 жыл бұрын
Hard disagree. Tragedy does great d-beat albums but Darker Days Ahead is my favorite of theirs. Channeling the spirit of Amebix and some serious death metal is a good look for them. If I'm honest I was disappointed by Fury. I think this band does conceptual and atmospheric music better than anyone in the genre, but it feels like they're going through the motions doing just fast d-beat on this album.

I just want to be straight up about it, Tragedy is one of my favorite bands and starting way back when i saw them play in Los Angeles at the excruciating terror house back in 2001'. Even played a show with them back when I used to pay in a band called Life in Exile. I've always follow their shows and their new releases. I'm sorry I gave it a chance and listened to it thoroughly. Surprisingly and unfortunately I wasn't too impressed. The Darker Days Ahead album was probably the last masterpiece. It just seems like they didn't try hard enough with this recording. Might have been the recording engineer or the equipment they were using. I don't know I just didn't do it for me. Hopefully after this one, they will come back with vengeance 😏 🏴🏴🏴🏴
@yugen2 жыл бұрын
It's called "entropy". Keep in mind before Tragedy even formed, most of the band members had already been involved with His Hero is Gone, making multiple landmark albums in the political crust realm. And THEN they created Tragedy which launched with the ground breaking self titled album, and then followed it up with Vengeance. Almost all of the band members were involved with other groundbreaking stuff such as Death Threat and Warcry for 2 quick examples. How much can you really expect from a group of musicians? With all of that said, this album is fucking great. You just sound like a whiner.

Is the Bandcamp page legit? Seems strange that they would choose to have a bandcamp page now after all these years? Just saying. Is that $ going to the band or just some schmuck?
@itsgaaabs60236 жыл бұрын
Bandcamp is pretty artist friendly, 15% of each transaction goes to the website, and the other 85% to the artist
@joshhill58216 жыл бұрын
@@itsgaaabs6023 Yeah, I understand that. I guess what I'm implying is that I dubious that Tragedy(the band themselves) uploaded this to Bandcamp. Tragedy have zero online presence. Why now would they choose to start? Why not upload ALL their catalog then? Why use the exact wording taken from the Discogs page in the description? Seems lazy and very suspect. That's what I'm saying. If it is actually posted by the band themselves then more power to them. I am sceptical though. Every article ever posted always describes them as a " mysterious band with no online prescenece". Everyone is just so happy to be able to hear and buy the album that they aren't questioning who actually posted it. If the money is being split between Tragedy/Bancamp then great. If it is being split by RandomPerson/Bandcamp then that's some BS. I am not sure why I care so much but this is bugging me for some reason. It's really none of my business.
@SMFSW6 жыл бұрын
Felt strange to me too, as the page didn't even existed some weeks ago.... Maybe not by themselves directly. Anayways, we're also a lot on bandcamp to get some records we wouldn't still be able to get otherwise, so if they can make grow their audience, it's ok with me, they (still) deserve it!!!
