SummerSlam 2014 was a very surreal experience. The death of Super Cena was completely unexpected, and seeing Brock Lesnar as the new face of the company was very chilling to see. Also the fact that this was the last ever SummerSlam to be in my home of LA, it definitely was a good time. I’ll forever miss this era of SummerSlam, and most of these events were a blast. Super cena never died cena was still on top of his game because after this match he had a rematch which nobody brings up or talks about he had a rematch and beat Brock lesnar at night of champions 2014 and then he went on to have a fight with the authority at survivor series

He had Lesnar in a submission and then AA'ed him in which rollins breaks it up but it's shown in the video that Lesnar would've still kicked out even if Rollins didn't break it up. (I'm watching the match at this exact moment as I'm typing this). To add Lesnar got curbstomped by rollins when he attempted to cash in but cena stopped it and lesnar got right back up to F5 cena. so yeah, even michael cole on the announcement when they declared cena the winner by DQ (but lesnar still the champ) was confused as to how lesnar was still up after taking that much punishment. and yes i know it's scripted for anyone who's going to act like a smartahh

It still breaks my heart that this was the last time we saw Randy Orton vs Roman Reigns in a 1-on-1 match. We were suppose to have a rematch multiple times since 2014, but it was never meant to be (Survivor Series 2020 and SummerSlam 2022 😔). Hopefully when Randy comes back we can finally see this match with their new gimmicks

The match at Survivor Series 2020 was always going to be Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre which is why Randy had to lose the title to Drew on the RAW leading up to SS. The only reason that Randy became WWE champ in that scenario was because WWE booked themselves into a corner of having Drew previously retain against Orton twice prior to HIAC 2020, Orton being the top heel at time they didn't wanna have lose three straight matches to Drew which is why he won da championship then. But he was never planned to face Roman in SS 2020 lol, but yeah def he was supposed to at SummerSlam 22 💯💯we need him back🙏

Purely fighting from underneath from the very beginning after an F5 early into the match. They made eachother in their own ways, & told a hell of a story in-match. This was Superman’s Doomsday. One for the books

I always said 2011-2013 were my favorite years because that’s when I first started watching WWE but I think the stretch from 2014 to 2018 is my favorites. That time period had the most impact in my life and that was when I truly could get away from the world for a minute. They were special and influential in helping me grow up. There’s a lot of downs but the little moments here and there were monumental to a guy like me. Thanks for doing this!

And things went downhill from their that’s why I never want to even look at this summerslam 2014 not cause cena lost it’s because just how bad of a decision it was cena should have definitely won that match Brock didn’t need the win at all when cena won summerslam 2010 and after that he went on a streak of not winning at summerslam which asinine fans forget how cena was injured and cheated so many times at summerslam and doesn’t get his win back in the main event .

I enjoyed SummerSlam 2014, my favorite matches were Ambrose/Rollins & Cena/Lesnar P.S: the Cena/Lesnar match was the match i was looking forwatd to the most and i remember my then-girlfriend and little sister were left speechless after the Cena/Lesnar match endedd (they were rooting for Cena, i was rooting for Lesnar cause i wasn't a Cena fan back in 2014) what a night and what a show we got, not the best SummerSlam but it was very enjoyable
