Naito was well-conditioned to stand up to SL. He did very well in only one area consisting of countering the leg kicks. He successfully annoyed SL. In the clinch, he could only defend and still got beat up. SL dominated Naito at so many levels.

It’s like that sometimes. Many gyms or most gyms outside of Thailand dont train the clinch. You’ll see that from American and other Western fighters too, get drowned out in the clinch

Every clinch Naito turn his back isn’t legal in Mauythai? When you get clinch you need to fight or try to go out of clinching range but you can do that.

It is legal to attack their back. In fact, clinching from behind scores very highly in thailand because it shows such dominance and control of the fight. I do believe, however, that it's unsporting to attack the kidneys, spine, back of the head etc. Superlek was kneeing the kidneys here; perhaps it was an "all's fair in love and war" kind of thing.

The referee can end the fight. and you will lose
