Joe is a great ambassador for the hobby and always has fun. Some of the rc KZbinrs are miserable and get really mad when things don't go as planned. Joe always keeps it fun and light hearted and that is how rc should be!

This build series is great. You could look at lighter spur gears like used in racing or aluminum gears for the trans to shave weight but still have strength

Install it backwards so you have selectable 2wd and 4wd. Dig is pointless unless you're doing comp. I ran mine installed backwards so I could switch between 2wd and 4 wd. Made it more fun for doing donuts and seeing how capable my rig was just in 2wd.

Could you put on a slipper eliminator and reduce the pad/plate and spring weight?
@ExocagedRC3 жыл бұрын
Yeah sure can. I’ll have to see what it weighs in at to see if I want to do that.

I just came across this video. Thanks for Posting. I have this set up. How do I get a Mount for the Reefs99 like this? Where is sold? Thanks in advance for your help.
@77dxr3 жыл бұрын
Another great video! Since you are going all out, have you considered a carbon motor mount and maybe fab a lowered dig servo mount? Fishcrawlerparts has the motor mount on sale 15bucks

Where did you get the micro servo mount for the dig? Would love to get one instead of using a full size servo
@ExocagedRC3 жыл бұрын
I traded another viewer, he had it.
@Overland_RC3 жыл бұрын
Looks like there's a shim stuck to the servo due to magnetism. Must shed all weight!

Vanquish dig is miles better than axial, but sliders are a must where I drive as if the body catches it will destroy the line your on
@ExocagedRC3 жыл бұрын
Right. I went without sliders on the Predator and it wasn’t that bad but I use them for turning sometimes.

A half cab would knock some weight off too
@ExocagedRC3 жыл бұрын
I gotta have a bed on it. I’m not a fan of chassis hanging out on these things.
@mojaverc15853 жыл бұрын
Could have a half cab but then fill in the rails with a light material like carbon fibre to have a flat bed

What made you want to use the SM10 transmission??

It’s a bit lighter than the 10.2 trans and I can put dig on it.

A hand plane might do a better job than a hacksaw for removing the frame rail pieces from the skid plate.

Joe, this is an epic build. I just watched the SV1 vs SV2 showdown... wow! Quick question, (note: I'm not familiar with Axial... yet) what is the difference between the SMT 3 gear tranny and the one that come with the builders kit?
@ExocagedRC3 жыл бұрын
The smt one can use a vanquish dig unit and the grey one can’t.
