Me too-the whole theater was full of kids with their parents, so full we kids were sitting in the aisles. We were impatient as Clark gets to the Fortress and Brando goes into his monologue-we were saying WE KNOW ALL THIS-and then as Brando finishes that Biblical monologue, you heard the music rise and we looked up and there HE was, at long last. I yelled , THERE HE IS! And then-he took off and the whole place just erupted with us kids jumping and cheering . I looked over to where my mom was sitting, and I just saw her smiling. So were the other parents, some shaking their heads. Nobody shushed us. One of the greatest memories of my childhood. Looking back, it was the George Reeves generation passing Superman down to Christopher Reeve’s. When I heard the music here, God, I was that kid again. And I wish my mom was here to see it with me again

I'm a lifelong Superman fan and, like a lot of people who are sharing their stories, my mother passed away very recently. She knew how much I loved all things Superman, and she'd have been happy for my excitement right now. I've always said that I associate Superman with stability, the kind that a good parent provides, and I appreciate this version of him coming along now more than I could have imagined before. This movie is going to take us all home.

Every grown man resorting back to the their younger self feeling that joy, inspiration, a greater person to look up too. And obviously the power and responsibility that comes with it. Superman’s character isn’t of earth, looks like us. Feels like us. Sees the potential in all of humanity. Doesn’t have to stay or protect humanity but does because he sees hope. My entire life was Superman comics and action figures, and my only live action was the daily reruns of the George Reeves version from the 1950’s. Then came Christmas break, 1978. I was 13 years old. As soon as the lights went dim in the theater and that iconic John Williams score kicked up, my life would never be the same. In the 46 years since, there has never been a single day where I haven’t whistled, or hummed, or actually played that theme out loud. It’s my go to happy music! All of that said, in these last 46 years I’ve had my hopes dashed several times by DC/Warner and the Hollywood machine. I will caution all of you not to get your hopes up too high.
