You know what, Oliver... you swayed me with the theme. I was initially put off with them using the Williams' score, but as you said in the video, it's the Superman Theme, and like James Bond, it should be there. I never saw it that way until now, good point.

The Bond theme has always carried through but you did have guys like Bill Conti, Michael Kamen and Eric Serra who had different takes on it. Personally I like all three of their scores, Conti’s most of all.

With Batman, you can have multiple themes due to the character's versatility. But with Superman, you can't. Williams' score from the 1978 film _is_ the character, and even though there have been good substitutes (Shirley Walker's theme for the Animated Series and Hans Zimmer's "What Are You Going to Do When You're Not Saving The World" come to mind), the 1978 theme is so inextricably tied with the character that to not use it would be utterly wrong.

Nothing against Hans Zimmer's score for Man of Steel, but the James Bond comparison, i think, works actually great! You just have to keep the theme. It's forever and ever merged with the character of Superman.

Regarding the font, someone pointed out that they may have used the same typeface as the original Superman 78 titles. If that's true then its a really nice touch. If you look at the words they *do* seem to appear as the outline first just like those titles...

I find it hard to equal the excitement I am seeing on social media. People are crying reviewing the trailer. It all seems a bit over the top. I keep seeing the usual hype train buzz phrases. I have enjoyed Gunn's films and TV shows. The irreverence, the style, the music and his ability to make the absurd and disturbing hilarious. Though it may not seem like it, I am optimistic.

I loved the trailer, it seems James Gunn is really going in the right direction on this reboot. Has a great balance of being a little dark, but still light-hearted. I dig the suit, blending both modern and old school. The inclusions of Krypto and the Justice Society of America is interesting and Gunn has gone on record to say this won't be a full on ensamble movie ala "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice". Will be looking forward to July 2025!

I'm very excited for this movie. I enjoy Superman: The Movie and grew up watching it, but I do have some problems with it. So for me, I'm waiting for a truly great Superman film and this appears to have that potential. For anyone wondering what I don't enjoy about Superman: The Movie, I'm not a big fan of Lois, she kind of comes across as an idiot. I don't like Lex being cartoonishly goofy and I really dislike his cronies. And I think we can all agree that the "can you read my mind" scene is awful and should have been cut from the theatrical release instead of cutting the "running the gauntlet" scene (which is awesome). Again, I do like the movie, Chris Reeve is amazing, Superman saving people and stopping crime is fantastic, the music is pure bliss, and the effects are top notch.

Zack snyders trilogy is my all time favourite superman and comic book movies in general. I like that gunn is going a different direction but concerned he is pulling good too much on the past. I have like 0 expectations for this movie one way or the other. This trailer pleasantly surprised me in some respects but then there are some things I’m not too sure about. Love the suit, Krypto, the look of the world, the fun/comic book-y stuff, etc. Didn’t know Luthor was going to be in it but that was good to see, and specifically to have a version of Luthor that looks the most comic accurate so far. Still not sure about the role of all these extra characters (although I must admit as a DC fan I like that we’re getting Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner, Mr. Terrific, Metamorpho). Clark’s hair is a little goofy to me but I’m willing to overlook it, but his height very much reminds me of his look in All-Star Superman where Clark just looks too big, like he literally doesn’t fit or belong in a crowded city (and would appear much more at home in the open fields of Kansas, or at his fortress of solitude, or in space), and I liked that aspect. Love the classic theme, don’t want the rock version to be the “main” theme but I could see it being sick if they played it during an action scene for the “fun factor” effect, which would also seem very James Gunn All that being said, I’m still reserving my judgment on this one for when I see the final product. I was going to see it anyway because it’s Superman, but this trailer got me more excited for it so it did it’s job

From this teaser I'm optimistic. I like the color. I like that Superman and Clark look believeably like 2 different people. I like that they're fully embracing the comic book wackyness. I don't think the John Williams theme will be used like you are thinking and that's a good thing. It's not like the James Bond theme. Superman has had themes before the first film. Imagine if Danny Elfman used the Batman 60's theme for the Burton films. That's what you are suggesting they do. Never move past the past films, never allowing a new composer to put their stamp on the character. Hans Zimmer & Junkie XL gave us a theme that perfectly fit that version of Superman. Superman Returns was so scared to be something new that they used the John Williams score & it hurt the identity of the film. It should've never been a sequel to the Donner films & should've updated the character. This new film has themes that are merging Hans Zimmer & John Williams score together for moments but I still think the main theme will be a new one as it should be. Otherwise no one will remember John Murphy in the same way no one ever talks about John Ottoman's SR score. The flying in MOS was great, can't see how anyone can think it was boring. As a major fan of Superman I was nervous about Krypto with Gunn's inability to not be campy but so far it's not terrible. At least Krypto isn't talking. Though Krypto isn't actually a dog, he's an alien species that to us looks like a dog. It looks to me like Gunn merged some elements of Donner (like bumbling Clark as that is not a comic accurate portrayal of the character) & Snyder (the struggle moments) so I'm hoping for something good. My ranking is MOS Superman The Movie BVS: UE Superman 2 (both versions) ZSJL Superman Returns Superman 3 Supergirl Superman 4 And I'm hoping this new film is at least in the top 3

While I love the vibrant look of the whole film, from the Kent farm to Metropolis, the costume design is mostly a win, I don't think the suit is the best. The color design is perfect, the trunks and yellow 'S' on the cape are a welcome return, but I've never been a fan of the neck collar from New 52 or this particular 'S' logo.

I still think that Snyder made two of the best comic book movies of all time. I know not popular opinion. Snyder cut of Justice League and Watchmen. I have the entire set of Watchmen comics. And. He painstakingly frame by frame recreated that. As far as his take on the justice league. I felt it was very true to the comic and kept the vision he wanted to convey. Winter soldier is still the best comic book movie. But the two I mentioned are my favorite.

Luv John Murphy's music as a rule, but the initial electric guitar theme reminded me too much of Top Gun. As you had pointed out, some of the scenes seem similarly shot to Superman Returns & as soon as Luthor appeared with gun in hand, i also thought Hitman. Krypto stole the trailer for me ❤ James Gunn has his haters & fans & i count myself to def be in the latter & he hasn't let me down (yet).
