The first look at David Corenswet as the lead hero in James Gunn's Superman has been revealed, and now a new look at the actor's impressive physical transformation to play the DC Universe's Kal-El has been shared. Despite having started filming in February, Gunn managed to keep the Superman suit a secret until now, with the reveal likely coming ahead of outdoor filming, so the first look at David Corenswet's Superman did not come through set photos. Corenswet went through quite the workout routine to achieve his Superman look, and a new photo spotlights his physical journey.
Corenswet, however, has an advantage over Cavill, as the DCU Superman is a few inches taller than the DCEU star. Corenswet stands at 6'4'', while Cavill's height reaches the 6'1'' mark. As one of the two tallest actors to have ever played the Man of Steel in live-action and looking very similar to Cavill's impressive Superman physique, there is a chance that throughout Gunn's Superman and his future DCU appearances, Corenswet will cement himself as the most physically imposing Superman star yet.

I, however, still think that the fact that it has been called "DC Universe" makes no sense. I mean, the 'DC Universe' is the _entire_ DC Universe. All media produced so far. All the movies, TV series, video games and, above all, comics. The 'DC Universe' is not just _this_ saga. James Gunn should/should have added a word. To identify it.

I read somewhere that this new 'DCU' will also consist of video games, as well as movies and TV shows. I, personally, find it not very sensible, since often the canon of a franchise is mainly based on films and series. Or, at least, that's my opinion. And I also have mixed feelings about the fact that they even want to make some animated series.

Did I just saw Brandon Routh as an elder Superman ? If he’s starring in it as a minor role, I would consider seeing the movie. If he’s not starring in it, there’s no chance of me seeing the movie. Brandon Routh is the One and Only actor that could portray Clark Kent / Superman just like Christopher Reeve. Just wish Gunn had done more research and taking a chance on making a film based on either Legends or Kingdom Come series. I was glad to see Brandon being able to reprise his Superman role in CW’s Crisis on infinite earths.
