I feel like Christopher Reeves does such a good job with Clark Kent. People always joke that "he just puts on a pair of glasses", but with Reeves its all in the mannerisms. The posture, the bumbling, how he talks, everything about him changes.

Reeves is the best Superman. Margot Kidder is the best Lois Lane. Donner claims the minute she walked in to the audition he knew he found his Lois. Kidder brought spunk and courage to Lois. But most importantly she brought a sweet vulnerability to Lois that made her so rememberable.❤️

I think Brandon Routh did him justice. People even commented he looks a little like Reeve. He certainly sold the “bumbling reporter” cover. There’s even a scene where Lois and her fiancé are discussing how similar Clark and Superman are physically. Clark overhears them and then deliberately does something so clumsy and goofy that all they can do is laugh at the ridiculous notion that he could be Superman

Exactly! That and when he realizes that he f'd up at the fireplace. I noticed it when I saw the movie when it came out because, honestly, Reeve is so good. Like Connery's Bond, Eastwood's Man with No Name, Gibson's Mad Max, and Snipe's Blade, he was Superman.

@@socyeteeinfo5271 there are real Super people out there just as there is a real Being. In one in 10 billion humans being born there is one formed that is different from the rest, one that is perfect. A few examples include Paul Anderson with super human strength able to lift 6500 lbs at any time, or Veronica Seider who could see at 1 mile what most see from across a room with 20:02 vision and close up microscopically. In an eternity of billions and trillions of years there exists a superior intelligence that we can never understand as a human. It was absoloutely horrid show, like every other WB/CW superhero show sinces, badly written teen drama with only a few superhero elements to just make it pass as a superhero show. It’s interesting because each interpretation of the Lois/Clark dynamic coveys three different perspectives of realising the truth. For instance in Margot Kidder’s portrayal of Lois she is so determined almost obsessed with exposing Clark’s identity just based on pure instinct alone. She risked her life in order to reveal the truth but in another scene she also learns from her mistakes and takes calculated risks (firing blanks) just to make sure. This conveys a Lois Lane who’s very intelligent, perhaps even more so then Clark because she possesses this hyper awareness or heightened intuition. It’s impressive that she went to the most simplistic or drastic methods to expose Clark but it’s done with such intricate care. Like she knew Clark would trip up on the pink fake animal forcing Clark to fall directly into the fire burning his hands. That’s some Batman shit right there because Clark works so hard to keep his identity a secret, precariously maintaining a fixed appearance almost 24/7 (glasses, suit, hat etc) that he forgets about potential traps in his environment, that could potentially expose him. “Always mind your surroundings.” Ray’s Al-Ghul - Batman Begins. Terri Hatcher’s reaction to finding out Clark is Superman is a natural response to such revelations. Imagine knowing someone for years trusting them with your feelings and insecurities only to find out that they are the same person that you lust after. In the scene where their arguing on the street, she demonstrates feelings of confusion, anger, almost a sense of betrayal, this is accurate. I felt like I could relate to her in that moment because your perception of reality, that paradigm is now shattered. Clark immediately tries to redeem himself by offering marriage proposals to which she stops him, insisting she needs time to think, time to adjust, it’s too much to take in too soon. This one scene coveys this predicament of their relationship so well. Finally Erica Durance and her reaction to Clark’s revelation that he is the blur is one of absolute joy and delightfulness. She’s ecstatic, over the moon, her one true wish came true. She was in love with the blur but also developed strong feelings for Clark, she had her suspicions that they are the same person but decided to pursue a romance with the blur because Clark wasn’t confident in himself as man to pursue Lois. She wanted Clark to be Superman and she got just that. It’s like falling in love with someone you know, a friend but believing the feeling isn’t mutual due to the nature of the friendship however just at the very last minute they confess that it’s mutual, making all your dreams come true. In short his confession resulted in a happy ending for both, it’s what she truly wanted after all.

The problem with Henry Cavill's Superman is that he doesn't even try to change his appearance to look like somebody else than Superman. He just throws his glasses on and calls it a day while Reeves changes his hair, glasses, speaking pattern, and his mannerisms completely to be a different person.

Except that he does change; it's very subtle, but it's there. His Clark is timid, for one thing, and easily talked down by Perry White. Besides, they're working with the idea that since Superman doesn't wear a mask, nobody even thinks that he has a civilian identity.

I'm old enough to have seen all of these reveals when they originally aired/showed in the theater. Reeve was incredible at making him two different people. Cain was adorable and his relationship with Lois was so cute. But, Tom and Erica is the one that brought tears to my eyes upon seeing it again. I miss that show so much. Tom was just the ultimate "Superman" for me even though he didn't put on the suit until the end of the show. However, Tyler on "Superman and Lois" is doing a bang up job, too. Overall, my husband and I feel that show is the most dramatic, the most "real", and the best produced of all of them. Of course, the passage of time has a lot to do with those productions values.

He's not as dorky and clueless in his demeanor, his persona and facial expressions is actually quite dapper and his character is something between Superman and Clark. There are two things, one I don’t like and one I hate about Smallville. I didnt like that in every single episode there was a cryptonite. And I absolutely hated Lana.

@@umr7085 Lana was ok for the first few seasons, but she wore on my nerves in the later seasons. But I mean the kryptonite thing, Smallville was the epicenter for the meteor shower where all the Kryptonite came from in the show. Makes sense that it is all over the town. It is also how the vast majority of the villains got their powers.

Christopher was the master of transforming his entire being from Clark to superman, from nerd to a dominant man. 👏 I loved Teri and Dean. I used to cut school to watch it. They were super cute and I loved Teri as lois. She was quirky, awkward and funny. But I was tearing up with Tom and Erica. They were freaking perfect, full of emotion, love and passion. Also we get to see a glimpse of more nerdy Clark on the last few episodes of smallville, following in Christopher Reeves footsteps.

I'd forgotten how good Lois and Clark was. It made the relationship real and made you really want them to be together - and, for the first time ever, finally believe that it was possible. Reeve and Kidder were epic, but also tragically doomed. Caine and Hatch were human.

Lois wanted Clark to trust her in Smallville. She knew him well enough to know that he’s been hiding his whole life, been an outcast. That someone knowing his secret could mean life or death for both him and them. So she didn’t tell him she knew because she wanted it to be his choice. And that’s why Smallville’s scenario is infinitely better.

A trainer made me fix my posture, stand up straight, shoulders apart, and chest out. Made my jaw stick out more, and the double chin was barely noticeable, of course your back has to get used to it, bad posture sucks What I'm getting at is that superman does a bad posture in purpose, over sized clothes , and moves his head backwards to have a different chin, it is possible that he can be Clark Kent with nobody suspecting anything

Gotta love how Lois finds out Superman's secret across the multiverse in different ways with each version. 🤣 They should have kept the donner cut Lois finding out Clark is Superman, that was so much better than the Niagra falls hotel fire theatrical version IMO. Lois felt like she was really putting Clark in unfair spot to force himself to reveal it to her. Smallville's felt the most emotional. Clark really felt like he was hiding the fact that was Superman/The Blur not just as a mysterious super hero but to really protect those close to him and Lois really figuring it out on her own while telling Clark it's ok that he can tell her. Lois & Clark's Lois came off the most obnoxious and annoyed like he owed it to her or something without even realizing why he has two personas as Superman and Clark.
