A unique and fascinating experience; wonderful readings, all of them, especially Superman who looked and performed great. I loved the idea of the black and white (in Kandor) and standard super suit. I also enjoyed David's soulful reading of the cameo appearance of Joe-El.Thanks to all for this. An abridged version would be terrific animated.

Not at all. Only thing it was inspired is Siegel's The Death of Superman, just like other 90s arcs like Krypton Man (Superman -> Race of Supermen (original name of Kal's race, Kryptonian came later by other writer) => Krypton Man), K-Metal from Planet Krypton (Would-Be Superman 8) secret reveal => Action Comics 662 As well as "deathS" of Superman in 1933-1938 period and just like back then he finally got lived/"reborn" in 1938 in a much stronger form than previously conceived in 1933. But then it is Jesus Christ core myth really.

Thank you for uploading this, I have really enjoyed it. If this was ever animated I think this voice cast should be used. And I enjoyed the insights from the Q&A panel. It had never occurred to me that this would have been at the same time as the Superboy TV show. That would have been strange. I also wonder, if this had been made would the Superboy series had another season or two?? Again thanks for this.

I found the story fascinating, but especially the perfect ending, with Superman becoming a father and as always, ending with a smile on his face while saving the world. Maybe there are some details that could be changed or modified, but I truly LOVED THE MOMENT WHEN BRAINIAC ENTERS THE CRATER AND TAKES SUPERMAN'S CAPE! Without a doubt this story should be adapted into an animated film or even into the Superman '78 comic series as "the end" of this wonderful Superman, of course with some modifications, but really THIS STORY SHOULD HAVE BECOME REALITY IN THEATERS, AND SURELY THIS FILM WOULD HAVE CHANGED THE HISTORY OF SUPERHERO CINEMA AND COMICS FOREVER. Thank you very much and congratulations for bringing us this excellent opportunity to know what the perfect ending to the saga that started it all would have been like. Truly, Christopher Reeve's legacy will continue to shine and inspire forever. 💙♥️💛

8/10 I really enjoyed this! Some things definitely need to be changed a bit for a kid audience. Other than that, it works. The foreshadowing was great, too. Brainiac trying to become human was an interesting take. This is a lot like the first 2 films' tone. James Gunn should do a adaptation of this for a DC Animated film trilogy basically Superman 5, 7 and 8 if possible only if they can honor Reeve's Legacy. James is already great friends with the family due to the new documentary. - Luke

@@PepsiMora if I remember correctly, I believe Donner was considered for Superman 4 but was not able to at the time. The only director that I know of who was attached to direct Superman Reborn initially was George P Cosmatos, he directed Cobra and Tombstone.

very good. couple of cringy dialogue moments, but all in all, this could have worked as a movie for sure. maybe a couple of rewrites to punch things up a little. i would have scrapped the lois getting pregnant though and gone with an end credits scene of clark getting a lead on a story of a vigilante in gotham city that has been making waves. and him looking at the gothem newspaper with a picture of a bat signal or something to that effect. ( akin to the joker card scene at the end of batman begins. ) the cast on this one was extraordinary, particularly braniac, lois and my god the guy doing clark/superman was perfect and even hit a couple of chris reeve notes in there. outstanding!

That was an entertaining performance. However, I'm not sure how well this could have been made into a movie given the large fantastical elements and special effects limitations at the time. While the story is fun, I feel it lacked the heart and character that would have been necessary for what would have been a final film in the Reeve era of Superman movies. Also, it was established in Superman IV that both Clark's earth parents are deceased. Personally, I don't think the Ma Kent character was needed and would have been cut out of the movie in another draft. There's a lot to admire here, but for a first draft that's understandable.

*SPOILER ALERT* in the third draft Lois and Superman do not get married and have kids, they do however get engaged and at the end Clark reveals to Lois that he’s Superman. The third draft is very, very, very Brainiac focused, as a matter of fact, I think he dominates that draft where it takes Superman out of focus and that’s why I like this first draft so much better. This first draft gives us a sense of closure to Reeve franchise at the very least.
