The sixties were THE greatest era in the Superman mythos! On any given day, someone in the Superman Family exposed themselves as having the depth of a saucer. But it was just so darn fun! It is also fascinating to note how often telepathic "nudges" were overlooked or easily forgiven. One time, Lori Lemaris tried to telepathically manipulate Superman into proposing to Lois. Anyone who follows Sasha is already aware of Comet the Superhorse's less than honorable (though hardly evil in the traditional sense) mental creepiness. Superman himself used his super-hypnotism in a few ways that would not be so well received today. Despite all of that, I can't help but go back to those stories over and over as some of the most fun. Not the most well written or most enlightening or inspirational, but just outright silly and brainless fun.

Given your psychoanalysis of the meanings of the various parts of Lois' dream (which I think you get right) what do you make of the cops being children? So I glanced at my notifications and first read it as Superman vs Tin Man and than later in the day as Superman Vs Titanium. So in the back of my mind, I was thinking it's a video of a goofy silver age villain. And than it's a comic on the premise of "Superman is faster than a bulletproof but what about when you take the Man of Steel and put him against Titanium?" (also Titanium played in my head the rest of the day) My mind had developed TWO very different ideas of what this video would be. That by the end of the day, when I watched. I was very surprised when it was TITAN Man and a Lois Lane Wedding Playlist Video. My mind just couldn't completely bridge that that this wasn't Tin Man or Titanium. But I ended up with two 60s Superman storylines and found that I think much more about things than I realize. Thanks for being something I look forward. It always brightens my day and I'll rewatch the video knowing this is Lois Getting Married. Lesson learned though, I must watch immediately otherwise my developed plot will change my enjoyment of the actual premise. This sacrifice will be dire indeed❤

There can be no doubt that these stories were very damaging psychologically to us old fossils of of the 20th century, as the currently messed-up state of the world can readily attest. Your analysis is clear and on point. Fun fact: The cover art, shown at 1:20 in the video, is a direct swipe by famous cover artist Neal Adams of the nearly identical interior art panel by Kurt Schaffenberger shown at 8:05. Exact same poses, facial expressions, and just about everything except the number "8" necklace around Lois' neck, and the church window in the background. Schaffenberger was and had been the regular standard Lois Lane pencil and ink artist for years, but Neal Adams had become the darling of the guest cover artists for almost all the DC comics during that time period because his covers were so popular and could really sell almost any comic.

As I recall the "Superman Revenge Squad" was mostly made up of various disgruntled aliens, each with some sort of unjust grievance against the big guy which they felt needed to be violently redressed. Well, aliens were often that way ... especially in the 50's and 60's. Maybe the "Anti-Superman Syndicate" was a bunch of wannabes, a copycat outfit, or maybe 'Syndicate' literally refers to organized crime and they are some sort of collaborative criminal effort? Hi Sasha, I love your commentary on comcs! I once participated in a debate re: Post Crisis Lois versus Lana. I stated that Lois was a gold digger, and that she only accepted Clark's feelings when she finally processed that Superman was out of reach. Lana on the other hand, always cared for Clark for who he was, not what he can do. Not a popular opinion by any means. Do you have any thoughts on this topic?

Lois Lane is obviously the most desirable woman in the DC Universe.

I grew up on this idealized vision of what Lois is supposed to represent. I like these who does Lois marry next stories. She has come along way.

In the world of Titanman, do only the men have multiple spouses? Do women get to have multiple husbands and number them too? And how is same sex marriage treated? Who wears the numbers? And what is the name for the first wife? B maybe? So many questions.

Great episode! You should assemble a collection of images of Lois wear, times when Superman says "told you so" and crazy Lois looks (5:15 on) - Did other DC characters have these sort of story lines?

No one: Me @ 2:02: why is Lois's hand so long in this panel? And is it palm out or back-of-the-hand out? I have so many questions JUST about the hand in this panel.
