1:34:54 Just incase you didnt get an answer to this question. Her 22x pits are negative edge moves, so he can hit meaty, but will often use the threat of meaty/trades to get more frame advantage on block by delaying the activation of the pit, or he can go for more risky throw/mix-ups if he thinks you will respect the pit too hard. Some of her pit properties will change if akiha negative edges the move for long enough, like making the pit hit twice, and have a much larger vertical hitbox.
@XxTexasTimxX4 жыл бұрын
1:39:20 You are correct that there is a gap there, but i dont think that many chars will have a normal that is fast enough to beat that. He uses that special as a pressure reset point, since its plus on block, but he will eventually get pushed out if he keeps using it and you keep blocking. He will have to take a more risky action to stay in at some point. Hime's dp is rather large, so you can try to dp through it, but I think jumping will still get you hit. He will have to confirm an air hit differently than a grounded hit, and it will be a lot less damage than a ground starter.
@XxTexasTimxX4 жыл бұрын
1:40:32 For your question about shielding. The facing of the chars does not mater for hitting the shields for any moon. The main rules for shielding work basically like this: A normals command normals, specials and EXs can be shielded either high or low. Aerials and standing B/C normals must be shielded high. Crouching B and C normals must be shielded low. There are exceptions to some (prolly all) of these. F-moon shields can be held. You got hit there because the timing was not correct for just tapping the shield. In a situation like this, initially blocking, and then taping a 5A(or even 5B with hime) when you see that he is not hitting meaty and must air dash back into you, is a good way to get an air counter hit or a trade in your favor. If he did hit meaty, then melty's cross up protection will allow you to easily block in either direction(true cross-ups in melty require chars to be facing the correct direction), and if he was late on the meaty with this kind of timing, then your 5A poke should trade at worst if your timing is correct.

1:48:08 Just incase you havent been told this yet, one of the features of F-moon chars is that they have access to Initiative Heat(IH) when in MAX meter. IH works like a rapid or roman cancel, and is preformed after doing certain specials/normals (block, hit, or whiff. It depends on what move you try to IH) by inputting 5ABC or 5E. You will go from MAX into HEAT, your meter will all be consumed, and you will instantly regain all your red life. With good meter management, you can come back from situations like this, and this was the perfect example of where it would have been useful. For example, you see that you are in MAX, and that he blocks your 2C, you can IH the 2C and dash back in to try and get something unexpected to hit, like a throw, or an anti air to catch a jump out. IH is a very powerful option in max for most full moon chars. F-Hime rarely uses it in matches because one of her metered combo routes leads into a safe blood heat activation (where you are in max, but dont IH something, and instead just hit 5ABC or 5E to go into blood heat), and then leads into a Blood Heat Arc Drive(BHAD) that hits otg. Very powerful combo because her combo into BHAD will put the opponent into max meter, then render their meter unusable(circuit break), then after they can use meter again they have 0 meter to use, and hime gets absurd frame advantage on the hard down(enough to charge back upto 100% and still meaty, or run a mix-up with flight).

@shiftyshitter3484 жыл бұрын
You should look up some matches from basilisk or whatever her name is to learn some setups, I'm pretty sure Hime is supposed to be a setup, 50/50 or at least very ambiguous mixups sort of character, I wouldn't know for sure because I'm pretty new to the game myself and I play F-Ryougi (literally just because she's the best girl from type-moon) and I can't do the shit the high level players do
@voltekka474 жыл бұрын
F-Hime is a character with a really good neutral who can also do extremely grimy 50/50s off of a 2C ender. You can see Sajam trying to do that a lot in this video.

Never played Melty but watch all of Sajam's vids. Usually the early vids go through the game mechanics, but in this one he went straight to character picking and just went off chat suggestions so I've got a couple questions: - What's up with all the character nicknames? Calling Archetype:Earth "Hime" and NRVNQS Chaos "Nero". Seems like it's a great way to make new players feel bad. - What's the difference between moon types? Sajam plays F-Hime. In fact, all of the players in this are playing Full. Is Full the dominant type? Is there an agreed upon best type for each character?
@AgentBacalhau4 жыл бұрын
Ok so I'm not a Melty specialist but I do play a bit so I can tell you about the moons. Basically, the moons change specific mechanics about the characters such as: not all moons are able to do reverse beats, some moons Regen HP when you go into a Veil-Off like state, and etc. And there is no such dominant moon type. I've seen all moon types being played on various characters, as I myself play Crescent Sion (later called Eltnum, when she showed up in UNI). As for the nicknames, that I can't say for sure, but I assume they come from Tsukihime, the VN that inspired Melty.
@Neco-Ico4 жыл бұрын
Nicknames are used to make things easier i mean Nero is easier than nvrnqsr and hime easier than archetype. There are a lot more nicknames to chars that share name like the 3 akihas, which are Akiha, seifuku and v.akiha And regarding moons there's not one moon better than the others universally but some moons are better for some characters Crescent is the most versatile moon you get 300% meter, reverse beat, can go into heat with just 100% to recover health Half moon has reverse beat as well but the meter is smaller and you can't access bloodheat also you burst the combo automatically when hit once Full moon doesn't have reverse beat but in exchange it has better framedata than the other moons and you can charge meter Another important thing is that all moons change part of the moveset both specials ans buttons and in some cases the mobility of the character like W.Len's dash And in tiers you'll that the 4 best characters are C. Roa, F. Hime, C. Kohaku and C. Arc

@@Neco-Ico NIcknames make things easier once you know them, but for new players it can be confusing (see Sajam's character picking process, lots of people just saying "Pick Hime" and he has no idea who that is). Thanks for the information on the moon types! It seems like this is a rough game to do character soul-searching on, since there's a large roster and 3 variants of every character.
