Like is a codeword or substitution for lying and grandiose exaggeration. When a person uses like in almost every sentence, nothing they say is genuine...but they have self rationalized it as honest.

Overuse of the word "uh" kills me. Also run on sentences. And lack of eye contact. And figiting. Also overuse of the word " um". But that's just an opinion from a manager with 30 years experience. I could be wrong. But you are NOT getting back hired.

Not all young people are like that girl emma in the video. You should judge young people and say mean things like that. You don't know what any and all young people or people in general are going through. I show kindness love caring sharing generousity and truth. My grandmother and father and parents told never judge a book by its cover. They taught me also say hello and smile to everyone because it might be needed when someone is hurting and might give them hope. just saying. no offense if this seems like a lecture.

Your interview started the second you walked into the place. I had an interview and I showed up and was asked to have a seat and wait. So I did this. After about 10 min they came and gave me my interview. Got called 2 weeks later and offered the job. During training I asked why I was hired over everybody else. He said they interviewed 11 and narrowed it down to 3. I had the most experience and showed my deep understanding of the job. Then he said something that I did not expect. He said I was the only one who sat waiting that did not pull out their phone.

Sometimes the interview begins the moment you park. I've worked for companies that send someone out to look at the candidate's car. Messy and unkempt in an office position might transfer to their daily self. Poorly parked or parked across two lines indicates self absorption. Also parked in name reserved places. Super flashy and expensive new in a candidate looking for a 40k job is a minor red flag. 40 years old with bondo for a sales position is also a red flag. Everything you display publicly says something about you.

I was interviewing a guy for a sales position and in the middle of it he stops and checks his text and THEN answers it. I was flabbergasted but thinking okay maybe an emergency. Then he keeps looking at his phone. Suddenly he's says excuse me and texts again. I told him, "Young man you need to text whoever that is and tell them you'll be right over" He looks and me bewildered and says, "Excuse me, what do you mean" I reply, "Well since the interview is over and you won't be getting the job tell them you can come right over. I ever look at my phone during an interview, it's one of two things. One, my kids daycare which will message us with both emergency and the mundane (not mentioning their name, but so and so got a hang nail, not a big deal requiring messaging or so and so sick and needs to be picked up, more worth an issue to message) or extreme family emergency is the only other emergency. Past that, no need to have my phone on me during an interview.

I've worked in the same retail job for over 20 years. I know this having overheard the managers talking about a girl who came into the store looking for a job. Every summer we take on temporay staff to help cover the hectic holidays. After a group induction course they came out of the interview room looking annoyed. Turns out one of the candidates was asked to tell the group abit about herself. So she immediately stood up, introduced herself and told the others in the group that as of next week she is on the management team and they are all fired and being replaced with people who are her close personal friends. Turns out she was walked out of the store by security for threatening staff and banned from the building. How to destroy your future in one easy move.

Cockiness and confidence are similar. I had an interview once where the candidate told me I need to hire them. However it was stated in a self assured manner and came across as confidence. If this actress were real, our interview would have been very very short. It was actually kind of comical 😂

I would have given Sarah the job too because Emma was very unprofessional and rude.

Emma has natural leadership potential. She has grit and confidence. All she needs is a bit more polish. Sarah, is gas lighting, her talent is "word salad" with loads of bs sauce. She will be a yes-girl, a follower at best. Do you want a fiery thoroughbred race horse, or a docile compliant donkey. That is the question. You could make the same analogy to the upcoming November decision. Coconut Kamala's "word salad" of hollow promises, or Trump's savvy NY Businessman's "Art of the Deal" World Peace oriented diplomacy.

@@macdieter23558 it's a systematic paradox in the HR department. The typical HR officer is inferior to any companies executive elite. And some HR people get jealous when interacting with a naturally superior applicant. The true business owner, who is guarding his investment, fills his company with strength not with weakness. In the leadership hiring environment, "NICE" is a 4 letter word, Estrogen is a neurotoxin. It's just like an Olympic category - equality does not cross categories.

@@WillC-k5rEmma would cost any company reputatiional damage other companies would avoid working with it. Sarah seems nice but she has the discipline to know what needs to be done has managed crises with no problems. Would be more of an asset to the company. Emma's attitude also is absolutely awful. No company would hire someone like that.
@WillC-k5r
@WillC-k5r 4 ай бұрын
@@jjo8277 Sarah's "discipline" appears to be coming from fear. Her closing remarks reveal how intimidated she was in a simple interview. Emma revealed her very high intelligence and confidence. The company can adjust (polish) her interpersonal skills with appropriate training. You see, manners can be learned a lot easier than fear unlearned. There is a place for both of them. If the employer was a bank, for instance, Sarah would be a marvelous bank teller, whereas Emma would be VP material. You have to consider context; you don't want to be accused of just falling out of a coconut tree.

I worked retail for almost forty five years and was asked to sit in on job interviews by my boss.I remember one that stood out the applicant came in pajama pants carrying a Taco Bell bag and when the interview started he goes hope you don't mind I'm famished and started eating my boss goes not at all and told him you could just leave and finish your meal and thanks for coming in.He was totally oblivious.

Oh... this girl reminds me the woman who was thinking she was hired as a manager even the fact she wasn't interviewed yet. She came late afternoon, wearing a bathrobe, disheveled, smelling like an ashtray and what's worse: YELLING at the employees. She had the audacity to tell our actual manager to say goodbye to the job because she will change everything. The owner was sitting reading the news and that idiot yelled at him rudely asking for a cup of coffee. He said "I won't hire this kind of uneducated, disrespectful and mouthy people like you. Leave NOW!" I will never forget her Pikachu face. LOL.

So the first woman has worked 1 month at her dad's company and refuses an entry level job with a sneer? Even if she wasn't rude, that level of entitlement would disqualify her to me. She may as well have worn a dress made from a red flag.

The actress did a wonderful job! Her line readings, her facial expressions, her body language were all absolutely spot on! Well done young lady! And comedy is the toughest form of acting to do well,but damn if she didn't nail it! I'll be back with more complimentary comments in a moment, but first here's Spencer Christian with the weather.

The best information I received about being interviewed was and still is, they have a vacancy, you want the job( do your research about the position you are applying for), they usually have more applicants than positions. You need to be able sell yourself as the right person for the position
