Supernatural Archetypes Castiel

Absolutely love your whole series on Supernatural so far since I've been kind of taking the series apart to see why I like it. Kind of reverse engineering shows or films I love to learn from them as a writer. Your approach to using the Jungian Archetypes is a lot of fun and also helps see that in constructing a character you're not entirely sticking to just one Archetype like there's a main one that they can fit into but also they will have pieces of many other archetypes. Makes for some really fun to watch and compelling characters to write. Thanks for making these videos! Just subscribed and am excited to see what other series or perhaps films you might analyze like this.

I love castiel he's definitely my favorite character in the series even though I hated the way he was treated in the later seasons I did enjoy his emotional growth and seeing him be a father to jack he definitely deserved better

Seeing this on 03-10-2023 Castiel was a badass when he first made his appearance on the show. So much that even other angels respected his fighting prowess. Hell, he even kicked Dean's ass. And we all know that Dean is a formidable combatant. But somewhere down the line Castiel became soft, impudent and weak. I admired his friendship with the Winchester brothers but man... the writers could have written his character arch much better.

When the writers first introduced angels everyone feared or respected them and made them looked very OP, but by the end they seemed to be on the same strength level as the demons. In regards to cass, he was a roller coaster because at one point he was at the same power level as humans (lost angel grace) but then when he had all the purgatory souls he was basically on the power level of god. Just saying lot's of highs and lows with this guy.
