I honestly feel Death, Castiel and Crowley are 3 of the best casted roles in TV history. They could carry this show. Crowley is FANTASTIC because he is so likable you want you to trust him when you KNOW you shouldn't. In so many situations in the series I thought to myself "Yah, fuck it, crowley doesn't seem that bad, lets do it". I'd be his bitch so many times over by season 13.

Crowley is the best realised 'good bad guy'. Others we've had like Ruby and Meg I could never really buy because the idea that demons would just act altruistically just doesnt make sense. But Crowley works because he ISNT altruistic; he's almost entirely self-serving, which means he can play the role of ally or antagonist without really changing much at all. The only things that change are the circumstances; sometimes what he wants allines with what the heroes want, other times it opposes them. Also he's just so damn witty and gets all the best lines.

Those scenes where Sam is trying to cure Crowley of being a demon... and it shows how much range Mark has, being able to shift from everyone's favourite hellspawn, to becoming someone so sympathetic, and everywhere inbetween... it's one of his best scenes as the character and why I so loved him in the series. I'm actually glad they gave him such a redeeming end the way they did. Sacrificing himself for the greater good... it showed that Crowley really had changed from the time when he first met Sam & Dean. He might have had lapses, but it showed that even the darkest of souls can do good if given the right motivation and chances.
