My favorite is The Who's "Behind Blue Eyes" in episode 10x18 when it turns out Sam didn't burn that magic book? I like how they used the natural change in the music to go with the scene! That's the thing: not only did this show have great music, but it always knew just what to do with it!

Man, I remember in 15x04 when I heard Sounds of Someday and I was like "holy shit this is amazing, who is this???". Imagine my shock when I saw that it was Jensen and his band. Incredible

Actually it wasn't him. They had been going thru songs for that moment and somebody suggested using that song and they did. He talked about it in an interview or panel.

@@jaycehoward2771 I was just coming to say that. Jensen said he picked out several songs, and the producer or music director (he didn't remember which) had picked out his song, and he was pleasantly surprised. Now he DID pick 'The Gambler' for the first episode he directed - 'Weekend at Bobby's'

Behind blue eyes, when Dean is acting normal, but afflicted with the mark of Cain. Beautifully used at the end of the episode. Also - These boots are made for walking,and I'm gonna getcha (one way or the other) where the demon (don't remember exactly) wants to drop something heavy on them in the street. And the summing up of, I think, season 5 at the start of s. 6 was the best filmic composition they ever had to Wayward son - use that one, it was stunning. Great video, by the way. Music was so important to this show, and we all have withdrawal symptoms now that it's over!

Oh, thought of one more great one :Lonesome loser (not sure about the title, lyrics go "he's a loser, but he just keeps on tryin'"), at the start of the episode where Dean is trying to have a family with that woman with kid, when Sam is supposed to have died, but this was the episode he came back from hell without his soul. Know what I mean?
