From what I understand (this is unconfirmed) the "Eye of the Tiger" bit was neither planned nor scripted. Jensen just did it on his own initiative, and it was good/funny enough to be added to the episode. (Not this take, obviously, but a similar take.)

Actually he said at a con that this was a blooper. Jared was suppose to come in and Jensen was then suppose to turn the music down but Jared never came so Jensen just started lip-synching

The director at the time liked to keep the cameras rolling to catch extra stuff they might be able to use. This was originally just for the cast but Jensen agreed to let it be used. And it was only filmed once so that was the original take

I started watching Supernatural with my dad on Netflix and we literally just saw this episode the other day. Eye of the Tiger played on the radio just now and all I did was die of laughter and my mom and younger sister were so confused. I looked it up to show them. Lol.
