Yeah I hate the fact that they completely forgot about Adam - it makes no sense considering how far they'll go to save everyone but when it comes to Adam they can't be bothered? I really hope they tie up the Adam loose end before the series finishes and they do it in a way that makes sense (like your suggestion) because I've been peeved about it for eight years now.
