Mario Kart Tour was build off Mario Kart 7, at first MKT just rehased everything from MK7, so that why the songs weren't remix like MK8.

I found something really confusing about tour and idk where else to say it so I will just say it here. Choco island in tour uses the ds remix of the song which makes sense, but donut plains was also in mkds and doesn't use the ds remix in tour. Logic

The thing is, only GBA tracks have new remixes anyway, but Choco Island is the only DS remix to be in Tour.
