So, I think the annotation is excellent. I think when I trash the Supernote and its Reader App, it's over the lack of formating for text and PDF reflow. Though there are tools there, that I didn't know about. But why are those tools only there for a certain file type? If not for you showing me this I would have never known, just from me opening a PDF and not seeing them there. Maybe we can convince Ratta to give us these tools throughout the Reader App. Awesome video Ed and thanks as always for sharing.

I agree that they need to make the tools consistent, but not sure what you mean by reflow the PDF. I would need to see an example in another device. The biggest issue to me is the lack of the highlighter selection tool in EPUBs (no highlighting or underlining). Links would also be awesome, or just zoom in converted notes. As always, appreciate the feedback.

Ratta needs an advertising wing, someone who will promote their products by expounding their tool sets... I think we might have found our man! 😁 As for the lack of conformity with regards to tools across the board, I think Ratta is fully aware of this issue, especially with regards to adding the same link functionality found in Notes... but being a small team have allot on their plate at the moment. For me, this is the biggest issue. Kinda reminds me of the Roman policy of building their fort layout exactly the same in every country they invaded... so if a battle breaks out during the night... everyone knows exactly where everything is _[especially the escape tunnel]_ without even having to think. If we could _[as much as it is possible]_ have the same tools set across the board, it would really increase productivity as theres always that bit of confusion muddling the flow.

@karlmunford7000 thanks for the compliment, I have only offered some unsolicited advice to Ratta, but what is cool is that they Re receptive to feedback. I completely agree with you that it's on their radar.

• *We could do with sone conformity with the tools across formats.* • *9:15* - Bookmarks - I wish we could do away with all the extra info it adds to the list, so we could if we wanted, just have one-liners [Chap 1, Chap 2 Chap 3 etc... all those extra lines limits the amount of bookmarks we can see in the list at any one time. • *11:40* - We can't drag to the next page, thus are required to draw brackets when our selections spans pages which often fails in my experience.

Karl, as always, great points. On Bookmarks, I wonder if they are looking to having these indexed and searchable globally? If so, the information may be necessary. If not, I completely agree with you. The selection across pages is a real limitation. I don't know how this works on other devices, so maybe Supernote can learn from seeing good implementations of this, especially since they let you do more than most readers after you select the text.

Thank you! This really encouraged to take advantage of my Supernote as a reader. It’s so lovely. It truly feels like I’m annotating on an actual book without the discomfort of having to keep the book open.

I been using all of that with pdf on the nomad. I am actually fine with annotating pdf on the smaller size device. Have no issues because you can zoom in and or use the landscape view and see the doc much bigger if needed.

Thanks for sharing this perspective. For me, it was just way more difficult. My son is truly enjoying the Nomad.

It was a labor of love my friend, probably the most produced video I've done to date, inspired by the Rant Master.

Thanks Ed. I am just getting fed up with Ratta delaying the A5X2. I may end up going with a Boox device or maybe a Remarkable device because they are available. I can’t imagine what they are waiting for now. Have a good Thanksgiving.

Bruce, I understand the frustration, and know the Ratta team is working hard to try to make this happen as soon as possible. If you need a device, I don't blame you for looking elsewhere. However, if you just want one and the Supernote is your pick, you might not be happy with something else because the systems are just all so different. Keep us posted.

Thanks for this! Definitely going to come in handy. I still think a sorely lacking feature is auto trimming out margins on every page without manual adjustment such that the content of each page is maximized across the screen without margins and without needing to readjust even with different types of content per page. I guess this is a point where Neoreader from boox still has a strong edge.
@Change-182012 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment and sharing your perspective. I wonder if that might be because even the reader is a "writing first" experience. My preference would be to leave the margins so I can write in them. Some global settings would be a welcome improvement. Thanks again.

You did it again; it was very informative. I hardly used these features and never really explored them, but I will look into them more since I have to read through tons of academic journal articles for my dissertation.

@@evilphuk Thanks for the compliment. I wish I'd had this when I was doing my dissertation. It is wonderful for research, and grading. When the A4X2 comes out, I will be the first in line. Until then, the A5X is the next best thing.
