I think Taki writing his name wouldn't help Mitsuha remember him. If Mitsuha red "Taki", she will know it's someone's name (which is who she's trying to remember), but she wouldn't remember Taki by it, cause' like Taki, Mitsuha will slowly forget him. By writing "I love you" instead, Mitsuha will know there's someone out there who loves her (even if she doesn't know who it was). What Taki wants Mitsuha to remember isn't his name, but the fact that Taki loves her. (btw I haven't watched the video yet)
