fun fact, there is a mod that adds a Marshmallow familiar in Afterbirth+, that can be lit on fire, the type of fire decides it's power, normal is the weakest, then is evil fire [the one that shoot tears when close], blue first and the best is purple fire. Hutts uses this mod and it's good

With my new found master ???, we Jumped down a trapdoor, i looked back at the remains of my older brother, Steven... "I will see you soon, brother..." I sadly said to myself before I jumped down after my corpse of a friend. The area I was in now was so hot I think I was sweating more than my master was crying. Sure, I did miss my bro, however, I think heading with Blue Baby was a good choice. We explored this burning area and I was surprised at how difficult it was to fight in this intense heat. I didn't think we would ever make it... but then... We found it! The boss room was one large room away! Now all we needed to do was get there and then we... wait... "Where are you going master!? The boss room is THAT way!" I yelled as he went the complete opposite way. I could only begin to describe my frustration with him as I wanted so badly to get to the next floor. I sighed and followed him... I mean, that’s my job... I'm a familiar. He then found the item room and the realization kicks in... that’s what he was searching for. We continued through that room and entered the item room itself... Inside we found, "Oh are you KIDDING ME!?" I yelled frustratedly when I saw the rotting green brain on a pedestal or as I call it "The item that only people with a terrible IQ score would actually say is a good item without pyromaniac" and rightfully so I hated Bob's brain almost as much as I hated brother bobby. Master ignored the item and ran for the boss room. What we saw was true pain... A big ghost with three small ghosts orbiting it... The haunt. I killed the first ghost and my master single handedly finished the other two. Now it was just me, master and the haunt himself... It was a challenging battle, that's for sure. Somehow we prevailed and we moved on to the next area. This was my first floor with my master being a player instead of my bro but it is an experience I will never forget.

This song, along with the setting of the game that is burning, makes me think that Isaac's mind, in the midst of its deterioration inside the trunk, is going through a stage of emancipation, like a fever where all his neurons are burned by the lack of oxygen and his last breaths to survive and get out come out with full force. But Isaac knows that he is going to die and that explains the melancholic melody of the entire piece.
