Samsung has improved while Google have just remained in the same place. I have a feeling that next year google will also improve their cameras. Samsung just has to improve with skin tones and go for more natural colours and stop with beautification.

What pixel does for its selfies is crank up the structure and down the highlights. Structure and highlight are calibration options to edit photos, they are present on instagram edits as well. Speaking of the bright background selfies, you can get the pixel like result on s20 by tap focus or tap exposure adjust on your face. Which will brighten up your face and blow up the background.

The Pixel 5 isn't as wide as others, better use photosphere for wider pics on the Pixel 5. To be honest, I am really disappointed by Pixel 5, as Google is using the same old h/w on their Pixel devices from the last four generations, now according to me, the iPhone 12 pro max will be the new camera king as it has the new sensor-shift image stabilization with TOF 3D LiDAR scanner. I think Google doesn't care about their Pixel devices anymore and it's high time for Google to upgrade their camera h/w...

The 32MP sensor in the FE is great, You could even see some natural bokeh but Samsung's processing for selfies is just annoying. They make everything look so beautified and soft just like how most Asians like it. It's better to use GCAM to take advantage of the sensor. Hopefully OneUi 3.0 is rumored to clean up all the beautifying in selfies.

One thing I'd really love to see on these camera comparisons is a test of taking pictures of moving objects. Most of the photos I take are of pets and kids and I love how my Pixel 2 can usually catch a clean shot even though they are moving.

I know as a KZbin celebrity, you're in it for the views, but you really are serving a great purpose with this comparison because I believe it is one of the most arguably held out decision for people right now. I think these two phones will do very well, Samsung probably doing the best. I'm blown away by the stability of the Pixel 5 and I've seen that in other videos! But, I'm a little concerned about the coloring in these videos. There was a dramatic difference in the coloring of the video and I'm not sure if that it was Pixel showing a more natural look or not? when it comes to camera steals, I don't think you're going to go wrong either way in most cases! But everyone talks about the vibrancy of the Samsung and the more natural of the pixel. I think it's a pretty easy decision, even though I was an avid Samsung lover before the pixels, I can always use a filter to get the Samsung look. I can't do anything with the Samsung picture, to get the natural look. And there are a lot of pictures that you take, where you're holding tension is to get people to see the actual colors of what's going on. Instagram where the pictures can always be done with filters. I love that you're telling me I have to put a headphone on just to be able to tell the difference in the pixel and the Samsung! If I have to get that close to trying to determine the difference, I'm going to probably call it an even competition, even though everyone has one little bitty notch above the other on things. I'm looking for clear decision-making choices! As of right now I'm still starting to lean more to the pixel 5, even though it hurts that the size is smaller. Maybe I'll come to appreciate that! But I believe with the immediate software updates, making your phone always feel new, and the battery life I believe will get tremendous on this phone. For me the downsides on the pixel were 90 hertz instead of 120 hz, but at least it will look smoother. A smaller size is not my first choice. And the chip being used. I'm comfortable knowing that the chip will do anything I want right now, my concern is that it's 2 years old and 2 years from now we may need a much more demanding chip and I'm really nervous about this the most! But I believe it will have a great trade off when it comes to battery life. And you can feel battery life so much more often than you can feel performance issues when it's this close.

I ordered the pixel 5, I think the chip will hold just fine. The RAM is a big deal 8gb, that will truly help its performance, and the fact it is vanilla android helps keep the phone not feeling bloated.

Using old 18w charging, same main camera sensor as Pixel 3, old ufs2.1 storage, slower lpddr4x ram, a processor that the sd845 (pixel3 cpu) beats pixel 5 on gaming/graphics tests. You are literally paying for software... Personally I'd get a Xiaomi/Oneplus and use Gcam.

Thank You for the video SuperSaf. I currently own a Pixel 2 XL and I am planning to upgrade. In India, the S20 FE is available for 600 dollars, Pixel 5 at 800 and Pixel 4a 5g at 500. Keeping the cost factor in mind, I think S20 FE provides best value. I am a huge fan of Pixel because of their camera and clean software(with timely updates), and the 4a 5g model selling for 500 dollars in India could have been an option but it doesn't provide a display as good as S20 FE and it also misses on dust and water resistance. Besides S 20 FE has almost caught up with Pixel in Camera. It will take time for me to adjust to the Samsung UI. They have promised OS and security updates with S20 FE so that's also not a problem anymore. Do you reinforce my decision? I would very much appreciate your insights. Thank you again 💓

I upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE today and here is why: The phone was $699, but I got $500 OFF, yes a whole $500, for trading in my Galaxy 8 Plus to T-Mobile. I paid $254 for my new S20 FE (which could also be billed at only $11 per month) plus tax and $7 shipping. I will receive the $500 off via monthly credits which leaves me with a $60/month bill that includes unlimited talk, data, text, visual voicemail, 360 protection insurance/"jump". I don't know if Google is offering discount promotions on the Pixel 5, but the Samsung trade-in discount promotions are incredibly hard to beat. Could not be happier.

Been a fan of the camera comparisons for a long time. But now i think you should add testing of social media apps and their camera usage on each of phone into your signature camera comparisons. And how they are all different with how most people will be using their cameras for example stories and all. Nobody is going to posting 4k from facing video on instagram.. just a suggestion

10:04 is the only instance in the entire video I would disagree with, the Galaxy S20 FE is clearly offering a way sharper, less noisy image, yes it is darker, but the Pixel 5 is also blurrier and not as sharp, not even close and I don't get what you mean by shadow detail? The detail on the S20 FE is way better, it's just as already mentioned darker. Anyways, great video as always.

Hey first of all EXCELLENT Video comparison! You my friend are really providing great comparison! I like the way you split screen both phones, hey people want to see the difference right there! Keep up the great work! I would say the Pixel would be my choice because of it's more Natural Pictures it takes. Would like to see them improve their telephoto lens and slow motion. But overall we use them for photos and video and that's where the Pixel using old hardware still wins.

Can the Samsung camera white balance be adjusted before taking shots or video, or can they only be changed in post processing? I prefer the Pixel colors, because they appear much warmer, and skin tones are more pleasing. I just ordered a used S20 fe 5g, and now I feel like I should have got the Pixel 5A

Yes colors can be adjusted in post processing in photos. Dont know about videos. Also there's an option on camera where you can choose warmer instead of neutral and it gives better result

That was my plan when I got the Note20 Ultra, but after using GCam ports on the N20u, I found that I liked the Samsung cam app photos better than the GCam pics most of the time. Samsung is definitely making strides towards competing with GCam

Yes. XDA developers are porting Pixel 5 camera (GCAM) to the FE and others devices. I don't know why anyone should get a Pixel 5 just because of its camera software when you can have it working on the FE. It's just that some people are lazy to go through the trouble of finding stable versions and sideloading the APK.

I really love Pixel phones. I had one for the first time in 2019. I really considered going back to one this year, but I’ve decided to try Samsung. What this camera test tells me is that on paper superiority doesn’t always translate to better in application. To me, the video colors, stabilization, and quality from the 1080p looks way better than the 4K (in the first clip) from Samsung. If you only look at specs, you might be disappointed.

That pixel 5 need's to do less fake hdr on the front facing camera...FE also needs some work on the skin tones/beauty mode. Google messed up the UWA...with that limited angle. Also... what's up with white balance/tones on your jacket(pixel 5)?

The pixel looks good with natural colors. The Samsung looks over processed image with a lot of smoothing effects in other words images look fake.

Because, their new pics are processed in a way which is 'saturated' and more 'contrast'. Just check any comparison video of any iPhone having 14.1 IOS update with the samsung FE. You'll understand how SATURATED apple is compared to samsung devices. I own Pixel 2 and iPhone 6s Plus & Asus 6z. I am fan of Pixel Cameras but Samsung 20 FE has more features and price wise also in budget. Pixel 5 is much more costly. In Pixel series except Cameras nothing is good. Battery life is very poor. Cant even last a day if you are normal user. These are my views after using the handset. I am looking forward to buy 20 FE. Any suggestions are welcome. I love selfie. Any other mobile for best selfie experience in this price range. plz suggest.

They’re both good but the reason why I prefer the pixel 5 is because I love to try the Google OS and it’s because it’s small. The biggest I can get is 6.2 inch and pixel 5 is 6 inch which is perfect for me.

@@johncruz5001 yes it is true people who are on the one ui 3.0 beta reported that they removed the beauty and the camera quality has been improved. Specially night mode. We will see more optimizations and updates later on.

Ugh I was pretty much sold on returning my Pixel 5 and getting the S20 FE but the video comparison is making me once again reconsider. I was willing to put up with the weird blue tint the S20 FE's camera has, but the Pixel's video is so much more clear and stable. It's weird because in another comparison the detail in the P5's photos seemed so much fuzzier than for the S20 FE, but in video it seems to be the complete opposite...
